Chapter Three
Unfortunate Meeting
Karen sat up in bed and stretched her arms. She stood up and walked to what she guessed was the middle of the room before stretching her wings. She was in a room Mia had allowed her to use for the time she was here. It was fairly plain. It had the bed in the far corner, and a dresser right next to the door. Next to the dresser, she had found, was a closet.
Realizing that she still had her night clothes on, she put her hands on her stomach and closed her eyes. As she concentrated, her night clothes dissolved and left her in a set of regular clothes. As usual, a pearl necklace sat around her neck, and the lock of blonde hair fell over one eye. When she opened her eyes, she was wearing a red tank top under a denim jacket, and long bellbottom jeans. After she felt along the clothes, she made her way downstairs to see the others.
"Morning, Karen!" Came a voice from her far left.
"Morning, Rowen!" She called back.
She made her way into the kitchen where Cye was making brekfast. After being there a while, with the help of the Ronins, she had memorized the house and knew exactly where she was going. She entered the kitchen and could hear Cye shuffling about, preparing breakfast.
"Good morning, Karen" came his soft English accent.
"Hey, Cye." She responded, feeling over to a chair and sitting down.
"Ryo wants to talk to you during breakfast." Cye told her.
"Huh? Is he mad at me?" Karens empty eyes held a look of worry.
"Oh, no! Hes just got some questions." Cye laughed lightly.
"Oh. OK. By the way, where is Kento and the other two? I only heard Rowens voice when I got up. Are the others in there too, but decided to keep their mouths shut?" Asked the angel.
"Oh, no. Ryo, Kento and Sage went into town to loosen up a bit. Ever since you came, weve been bracing ourselves for an atack from Kaldra and the Warlords, and I guess they just got a little too tense. Also, don' tell them I said this, but theyre thinking about getting you a gift. I think they were going to take a trip to the gym as well. Thats probably where they are." Cye lowered his voice as he said this. "Hey, Rowen?" He unexpectedly called out.
"Yes?" Rowens young voice called back.
"Would you call Kentos cell phone? Breakfast will be done in about thirty minutes, and they need to get in the showers first."
Without answering, Karen heard Rowen get up of the couch to call the cell phone.

"Geez! Where are those four?" Cye cried, throwing his hands into the air. "Breakfasts almost done! What are they doing?"
"I dont know." Karen seemed as if she was looking around, even though she saw nothing.
Rowen hadnt gotten ahold of Kentos cell phone and had gone to look for them twenty minutes ago. The gym was only about five minutes away, and Cye and Karen were beginning to get worried.
Cye!! cried a very familiar mind voice.
"Ryo?" Cye stopped talking and looked as if he was listening to a voice coming from the wind itself.
We have some MAJOR problems here!
What? What do you mean?
Well, of course you remember the reason Karen is here, dont you?
Of course I d oh. Well be there as soon as possible!
Cye quickly turned to Angel Ronin.
"Karen!" Cyes voice sounded stressed and a bit panicked.
"Whats wrong, Cye?" She asked, turning in the direction of his voice.
"Ryo says that theyre getting attacked by a bunch of Dynasty Dorks! Weve gotta help em!" He cried, heading for the front door.
"Cye! Wait!" Karen cried. She heard him stop in his tracks. "You havent let me into the city before because I cant hide my wings. I cant find my way to the city alone!"
"Oh, right. Well, Ill run underneath you and you can follow my footsteps." He suggested.
"Ok, lets go!" Karen ran to the front door, and took flight. She felt as if they were going for forever. Cyes footsteps led her this way and that, weaving their way to the middle of Toyama. Karen flew higher over the city for fear of anyone seeing her, but she still kept near enough to hear Cyes footsteps. But, the minute they went into the city, Karen lost Cyes tracks as they drown into the sea of footsteps in the city.
"CYE!" Karen yelled as loud as she dared. She heard no response. She began to panic, and hovered in the air. Her sensitive ears rang with the bustle of the city. Se covered her ears with her hands and felt her way over to a building, and landed.
What am I going to do now? She thought desperately. She couldnt just leave her friends and go back home. Mainly beacuse she didnt know the way. Then, she had a thought. The guys use a mind link! Maybe I can too! Karen concentrated as hard as she could and soon kythed a message.
Guys! Where are you? I lost Cyes footsteps! I dont know where I am! Help.
A couple agonizing minutes passed before a kythed message found its way back.
Karen! Concentrate! You can pick up our energies. We have our armors on, so you can follow us here. Came Kentos voice.
Thanks Kento. Now to get myself transformed. She thought. She put her hands on her stomach and concentrated. A white light surrounded her and her clothes disolved, and were replaced by her armor. She had a pure white chest plate, and light blue armor on her legs. Her hair was pulled back into a high pony tail, exposing both of her clear blue eyes. She concentrated, and took flight in the direction of the Ronins energies.
"Man, we are so dead if Karen doesnt get here soon." Commented Rowen.
"Dont worry, shell be here soon. Im sure!" Cye consoled.
"Well, Id have to say that that is the least of our problems!" Ryo shouted over the screams of fear.
"True, I hope that those cameras explode!" Kento cried, reffering to the news cameras and crews that surrounded them. The news seemed to be recording everything that they said and did. The Ronins were getting nervous and a bit annoyed.
A crowd of people had gathered around, forming a circle around the battle. No matter how many warnings of the danger that the Ronins gave the people, none seemed to want to budge. The Ronins had cut down all of the soldiers that were sent against them, and were now struggling with the Warlords. They were having a bit of trouble, considering that they had become quick friends with the Warlords after the final defeat of Talpa. The Ronins didnt want to hurt them. Unfortunately, the feeling wasnt mutual.

Karen could hear the sounds of the ongoing battle. She headed straight for it and turned on the special senses that her master had taught her. She picked up each of their energies, and pictured the battle scene in her mind. She could see each of the Ronins in battle with each of the Warlords. Then, she saw him. Kaldra. He had appeared, yet was not yet visible to the naked eye, or any eye to be exact. She knew she had to do something the minute he began heading toward Ryo, who was currently busy with Kayura. Rowen was doing what he could to help, unfortunately, it wasnt much.
Karen also heard the noise of a crowd around her. People. Watching. This was going to be harder than she thought. Oh, well. Here goes nothing. She raced toward Kaldra, smacking into him just before he was about to decapitate Ryo. She landed on her feet, and lowered her wings. She heard the loud clank of Kaldras armor as he hit the pavement. She sensed that she was to the right of Ryo, who was still struggling with Kayura. She could also tell that Kaldras ability to be invisible had worn off as a gasp came from the crowd, as well as a gasp from Ryo. Karen lashed out her right arm, flinging Kayura off of Ryo.
Ryo grunted a bit, and collapsed to the ground, panting slightly. "Thanks, Karen."
"No prob, Ryo." She held out her hand to help him up. He gratefully took it, and got to his feet. Rowen walked over to them. Karens sensitive ears picked up another problem. She heard voices, louder than the murmuring ones.
"And it seems that the angel-like creature is called Karen according to the red armored boy we have identified as Ryo Sanada. " Came a mans voice.
"News crews." Karen growled.
"We know. What do we do?" Ryo asked, a bit panicked.
"Dont worry about them for now. We need to deal with the immediate danger. Which is Kaldra and the Warlords." Karen answered gravely.
"Gotcha." Rowen said. "Well go get Kaldra for now. Why dont you go help the others?" He suggested.
"K." Karen took flight, and headed over to the others.
