| Episode Five Wind and Lightning |

| Kiki set her Geometry book and paper to the side and laid down on the wooden floor of the tree house she was occupying, pillowing her head on her folded arms. She felt sleep beckon her mind, but stayed awake a few minutes more. Finally! Man! I couldnt concentrate on anything! I cant seem to focus. I cant shake the feeling that something is wrong. And it has to do with me, Michi, and the new girls we met at school. Somethings going on, but I cant figure out what it is. She looked out the door of the treehouse into her backyard. Well, Im probably just paranoid. Kikis eyelids grew heavy, and she finally drifted off to sleep. CRAAAASH!!! Kiki bolted upright in the tree house as a clap of thunder disturbed her sleep. She looked out the window to see the lawn being drenched by a sheet of rain. What... what happened?! Kiki winced as a flash of lightning lit up the entire area. There were mere seconds before a deafening roll of thunder echoed across the sky. Forked lightning sprinted across the clouds, some apparently touching ground. Loud thunder rattled Kikis eardrums as she scooted over to the corner and leaned back on the nailed wood. She drew her knees up to her chest and cringed as another set of lightning and thunder shook the very tree house she sat in. Suddenly, a bright light pulled her attention upwards. She could see the darkened sky above through the small cracks in the wood that also allowed rain water into the house. The bright light she had seen was a large yellow ball, like a bunch of lightning about to strike. And she was right. The ball suddenly turned to a bolt and the bolt struck the house she was in sending electricity through the nails and into her body. However, she felt no pain. Her body was not being fried to ashes, and neither was the tree house. Usually, wood is incinerated by fire when a bolt of lightning strikes it. The lightning felt invigorating, empowering. Like a boost of pure energy. Kiki stood, energy still flooding her body as the lightning continued to surge through the tree house. She panicked, wondering if she was going to die, if she was dying. She wandered in a circle before sitting down at the edge of the tree house. She looked out the door to the wooden structure, confused to no end. She jumped as a voice almost as loud as the thunder boomed around her. Kiki Senona! Y-Y-Y-Yes? she sputtered. Prepare yourself! Your life will soon change forever. As the male voice spoke, its owner began to appear in the form of a holographic image directly in front of the tree house she sat in. The man who appeared had ebony hair and bright, yet weary golden eyes. He wore a plain kimono and held a multicolored staff in his hand. W-W-Who are you? she cried, freaked out of her wits. Thats not important, now. You will learn soon, Kiki. For now you must remember the name Denkou Megami, or Zoe Carsyn for they redefine who you ware. I leave you with this message. As he spoke, his image began to slowly disappear. You bear the weight of lightning on your shoulders. See proof on your forehead. Kikis head shot up from its place on her folded arms. She looked at the doorway of her tree house to the bright sunny day outside. A dream! It was only a dream! Kiki smiled slightly. Her smile soon faded as she remembered the last thing said in her dream. You bear the weight of lightning. See proof on your forehead. Kiki plunged her hand into her backpack and pulled out her mini hand mirror. She peered into it at her forehead, her eyes met a light purple lightning bolt with thunder lines on the sides. Kiki dropped the mirror back into her backpack and slumped against the side of the treehouse. What on earth is going on? Jeanna sat back on her porch and sniffed the fresh air of the ocean. She looked out over the small bay and smiled at the sky. Her eyes sparkled at the royal blue canvas of the sky dotted with puffs of bright white. Jeanna closed her eyes and dozed a bit, seeing the light from the bright sun on the inside of her eyelids. She sat there for minutes, hours. Jeanna didnt seem to know. Time seemed irrelevant. She was enjoying the swift cool breeze and the comforting salty smell around her. Nothing seemed to exist to the girl for a while. Her mind wandered from her new friends to her schoolwork laying finished beside her, to memories of her parents. Finally, the lack of light on her eyes pulled her back into reality. Her hair seemed to pull at her head as her skin became chilled, sending thousands of goosebumps up her arms and back. Jeanna opened her eyes to see the sky had darkened to a dark slate, and the wind whipped mercilessly at the houses and plants around her. Finally her eyes fell out over the bay and widened at the doom that was racing at her. A huge tornado, gray and loud, lumbered toward her. Bits of trees and tons of sand caught up in its layers of circled wind Jeanna darted to the back door of the condo that her aunt, her uncle, her younger sister and she lived in. It wasnt huge, but it was home. At least it was for the time being. Maybe not for long with that thing heading her way. She tried the door, only to find it locked. She banged on the door, doing her best to either warn her remaining family of the approaching danger, or break the door down to let them know. Neither occurred. She threw her whole body into the glass sliding door, but nothing happened. The winds picked up, and Jeanna felt her weight lifting off her feet. She grabbed the handle of the door and held on for dear life as the wind picked her body off the ground. She was immediately jerked away from the handle and sent careening toward the center of the wind cyclone. Jeanna squeezed her eys shut at she was hurled toward the tornado. When she opened her eyes, she seemed to be floating in mid air. The winds were calm all around her. She realized that she was now in the eyes of the tornado. But I thought that all things were calm in the eye of a tornado or hurricane. Then why am I floating? She thought, confused. She looked below herself to see many people below on the beach. Many teens surfing the waves or playing sand volleyball, seemingly oblivious to the swirling winds surrounding them. What is going on here?! Not only am I floating, they dont seem to notice the tornado!! Jeanna screamed at the people below. HEY!! What are you doing?! Get out of here!! Theres a tornado!! the people made no effort to respond. What is going on here!!? Jeanna Faith? boomed a loud but gentle male voice. Whos there? she shouted to the now silent winds. Jeanna. Know that the names Kaze Megami and Avari Charisse will soon change your life as you know it. Prepare yourself, young one. As these words were spoken, an image appeared in front of her. It was a tall slender man with long, healthy, black hair and golden eyes, a staff held in his strong hand. Who are you? she cried. Settle. Now remember all that has taken place and let the symbol on your forehead be the reminder. Jeanna opened her eyes and looked around. The salty smell still wafting around her and the slight breeze comforting the shaking girl. She sat up a bit, but then slumped back again. No wonder it didnt make sense. It was all a dream. Just a dream. Thats all. Jeanna sighed and was about to close her eyes when an icy heat on her forehead drew her attention The girl turned in her seat to look at her dim reflection in the glass door. She almost fell out of her chair at what she saw. A teal colored angel wing, simple, yet elegant, burned coldly on her forehead. Jeanna clapped a hand over the glowing symbol and turned back around. What in the world is happening to me? |
