Teppo wore a brown robe, under which was a simple black kimono. He had dark brown, almost black, eyes under his dark brown hair and hood. At first glance, people today would say he looked like the grim reaper. The man turned menacingly to a woman clutching her infant protectively. He pointed the staff of fire at them as it began to glow.
A pair of sandaled feet stood in the monk�s way. Teppo�s eyes wandered up the man�s body until resting on his face. �Ahh...Kin. I take it you�ve come to try and stop me again?� Teppo laughed confidently.
�This ends here and now, Teppo!� Kin shouted. The man had waist length black hair and asian skin. He was tall and slender, yet built, and wore a long, simple, plain, white kimono. His eyes were stunning golden.
�Oh, does it? Well, Kin, do you remember what happened the last time you tried to stop me? I almost tore your soul away.�
�I�ve changed, Teppo. I�m not the Kin you remember.� Kin answered, eerily calm.
�Oh really? And what is different about you now?�
Kin smiled and held his hand in the air. Golden energy glowed there for a minute before forming into a staff. Kin grasped it, and stood it firmly beside him to let Teppo get a good look at it.
�And that is...�
�This is my own staff. And I needed a way to test its powers, so... I decided this would be the best.� Kin gave Teppo a smirk.
�You think that wimpy thing can stand up to the four elemental staffs of power?! You�re mad! Fine! It�s fine by me! I�ll be glad to add your soul to my collection.� Teppo tapped the fire staff proudly.
�I think not! Prepare to die!!� Kin rushed at Teppo, brandishing his staff as it glowed intensely.
Teppo, strapped the fire staff to his side, and held out his palms in front of him. The four orbs at the tops of each of the staffs floated from their places, and in front of Teppo. Teppo closed his eyes and concentrated. The four orbs began spinning wildly and glowed their respective colors. A line of power flowed from each of them into one ball of energy, in front of Teppo�s hands. He launched it at Kin. Kin held up his own staff and sent a golden ball of energy at Teppo.
The two attacks clashed in midair. Kin�s slowly began to go back toward him. Teppo laughed insanely as a layer of sweat broke out on Kin�s forehead.
�You see, old man?� Teppo shouted. You will never match my power! I�m invincible!�
Kin�s face began to change to one of fear as Teppo�s power loomed over him. Finally, his face brightened with an idea. He closed his eyes and sent out a mental message. As the message was answered, he smirked at Teppo, and concentrated harder.
Teppo�s smirk flipped around to a frown of fear as Kin�s energy ball began pushing toward him. The glow on Kin�s staff intensified, as his power began to overwhelm Teppo. �What are you doing? How are you doing this?!�
�Your evil is being used against you, Teppo. The people�s souls, which you trapped inside the staffs of power, are sending their help to defeat you. You�re finished, Teppo Iken!� Kin shouted as he gave the staff a final burst of energy.
Teppo screamed as the powers of his own attack as well as Kin�s slammed into him. His body lifted into the air and soon disintegrated. The orbs returned to the tops of the staffs, and the staffs rocketed away into the distance.
Kin approached the place where Teppo had been standing. He looked around at the devastation that had been caused by the staffs. He sighed audibly, the spoke softly. �I may not be able to undo what Teppo did, but I can try to prevent it from ever happening again.� He raised his eyes to the sky and spoke in a normal tone. �As long as those staffs exist, there will be a threat to all of the world. And as long as those staffs exist, I will be here to contradict their power. Always.�
The little girl sat up and screamed as she watched her parents die. �Okasan!! Otosan!!� tears streamed from her eyes as she looked up in fear at the man approaching her. An insane smile curved his lips as he held out his had, palm out, to her. It began glowing as he powered up for an attack.
He stopped as he realized that her parents were not the only things he destroyed. The energy blast he used to kill them had also blown up a nearby house. Huge chunks of wood and bricks were thrown everywhere. The man jumped away as a large piece of wood fell right where he had been standing.
The girl looked up in horror as a large brick hurled toward her. She moved aside to avoid it, and succeeded, but was distracted, and didn�t see the large wooden piece headed for her head. It hit her in the back of the head, knocking her consciousness out of her. She slumped to the ground as a small trickle of blood stained the back of her shirt.
The man looked up and saw that the girl had been knocked unconscious and smiled evilly. He slowly approached her, and held out his hand, powering up. He was about to loose the energy on her when a pair of sandaled feet stood in his way. He looked up at his face. A very familiar pair of golden eyes stared back at him.
�Kin? I didn�t think you�d still be doing this almost one thousand years after my defeat.� The man said confidently.
Kin raised an eyebrow and regarded the man suspiciously. �What? How do you know me?�
�Why Kin! I�m hurt that you seemed to have forgotten me!� The man pulled back his hood and revealed his long dark brown hair and almost black eyes.
Kin gasped. �Teppo Iken!!� he shouted.
�Well, who did you expect? The boogie man?� Teppo shrugged.
Kin growled. �You just don�t know when to give up! I thought I�d killed you!�
�You almost did! In fact, you killed my body, but my soul was still very much alive. I just needed to find a new body. And as you can see, I did. It took me almost one thousand years, but I finally found the perfect vessel.�
Kin held out his staff and the end of it glowed. �You�ve caused enough suffering, Teppo! You�ll perish for sure, this time!�
Teppo smirked confidently. Kin released the energy on the man as he crouched down and covered the small girl to protect her from the blast. The energy exploded on contact, making a deafening sound, however, Kin could hear no screams from Teppo.
He stood as the dust cleared. When the area was clear, Kin gasped at what he saw. Teppo stood amidst the destruction caused by the energy. Teppo cackled insanely.
�You heard it took me a thousand years to find the perfect vessel, didn�t you? Well, not all of that time was spent looking for a body. Some of it was spent putting spells on it to make sure you couldn�t physically kill me! Ha!�
Kin growled again, frustrated to no end. Finally, he held up his staff as the end of it glowed intensely. �I may not be able to kill you, but I can banish you! I banish you, Teppo Iken, from the country of Japan! Be gone demon!�
This time, the energy released engulfed Teppo and shrank until it disappeared entirely. As soon as Teppo was gone, Kin stooped down and picked up the girl into his arms. He sighed. �That seal will hold him, but I'm estimating that it will only last about six to seven years. He still retains some of the powers of the elemental staffs. I have to find out how to vanquish his soul. But I don�t have the power to do that. I have to talk with Sento. He will know what to do.� With that, Kin turned and walked off into the midst of the destruction and disappeared.
