This was the Marine Corps area of responsibility in Vietnam in 1965, the "I" Corps Tactical Zone ("eye corps"), as it was known. At the very bottom, you can see the "II" Corp tactical Zone (I think we called it "two corps"). "II" Corps belonged to the US Army, but it was in the "II" Corps area that my FO Team and the infantry company to which we were assigned first landed in Vietnam.

This illustration is from US Marines in Vietnam, the Landing and the Buildup, 1965, Jack Shulimson and Major Charles M. Johnson, USMC, History and Museums Division, Headquarters, US Marine Corps, Washington, DC, 1978.

In memory of LCpl Robert Guy Brown, KIA on Operation Texas on March 21, 1966. LCpl Brown had been the acting artillery FO for Echo Company, 2d Battalion, 4th Marines. He had just turned 19.  Semper Fi.
