My Sky-Diving Adventure...

This was Kerri's birthday gift to me in 1997.  She had me fooled into thinking I was going to help someone cut down some trees.  I still didn't have a clue even when we pulled up to the airstrip!  (She always told me we'd get divorced if I ever did this sort of thing.)  Even when Kerri told me Happy Birthday, I still didn't believe her.

Anyway, I had a blast!  I went on a tandem jump from 10,000 feet.  It was me, Rick (the guy strapped to my back) and the camera man (he was even shooting video, too!).
When you jump out of a perfectly good airplane at 10,000 feet, you really don't have any perception of movement (other than the wind blowing by at about a buck-twenty).  It was like we were floating.  Really a strange sensation.

When Rick pulled the rip-cord...now I felt that!  Right where the straps were from the harness... between my legs!  Imagine haulin' ass down the road at over 100 mph and someone slowing you down really fast by grabbing your undies!  It's like that...

Afterwards, I had a grin on my face for 3 days.  I also had no desire to go bungee jumping anymore!  About 30 seconds of real, live free-fall kind of has that effect on a person.

If you love an adrenaline rush, and have the balls to just step out of an airplane into nothing, I highly recommend it.  Definitely not for the faint of heart, though.
