This is one of my Dad's finest rebuilds. A 1961 Corvette. Unfortunately, I never got to drive it. That's me standing in the front seat! This picture is from '74 or '75, I think.
My Dad restored this car to original, and I'm told it ran superb! The paint job has 7 coats of red, with 3 coats of clear. Each coat rubbed out with rubbing compound creating a car that looks like it is covered with glass. You couldn't wash it with a hose, the water spots would dry too fast. You had to use a wet cloth and then dry immediately. He sold it about a year after this photo was taken for $7500. We looked at one again when I was in High School (late '80s) and it was going for $35,000! |
