Kenshin Himura is the main character of Rurouni Kenshin (duh!)
He has a very distrubing past...he was actually Battousai the Manslayer, a manslayer (u know, kills people) that has a love of killing. But*spoiler* he accidently killed his wife, Tomoe, with his sword. After that he made an oath that he won't kill anymore for the rest of his life, and he got a reverse-blade sword. He also went off wondering. 10 years later he found Kaoru and is now staying w/ her at the dojo (and actually falls in love w/ her) but when he fights he slowly starts to become closer to being the Battousai again, so he needs to be careful..(and he's actually 28 years old!)If you wanna know the rest of the story..., just watch the anime!
Kaoru Kamiya is the assistant manager to the Kamiya Kashin style and head of the dojo where everyone lives. Her father and mother died and the dojo is all she has left of her family. This is why she wants to keep up the Kendo school. She is a kind, caring person.She only 17 years old too! She also teaches Yahiko her family's style: the sword that protects. She starts to know kenshin and knows about his past...she wants to make sure that she would do anything to make Kenshin stay the way he is and not Battousai. Kaoru actually falls in love with Kenshin and she shows it. She's really kawaii! I could really relate to her.
Yahiko is a samurai's son which has a lot of determination in his heart and will do anything to become stronger. He really looks up to Kenshin like a father. He is taught by Kaoru with the Kamiya Kashin style and is getting really good, even though he's only about 10 or 11 years old. He always wanted to learn Hiten Mitsurugi style, but Kenshi wouldn't let him. Even though Sano and the others make fun of him, they know Yahiko can be dangerous if he really wanted to.
Sano is a former member of the Sekihotai group in the Revolution. The most important thing in his world is his past. He has a lot of pride (maybe too much) and is proud to wear the "BAD" japanese sign on the back of his shirt. He fights using his fists and feet only and is still one of the best in Tokyo.He's only 17 years old, too! Sano is a bad guy to hang around with, but when it comes to fighting for his friends, pride, or just partying, he's determined and seems to have a lot of fun. Somehow he falls in love with Megumi.
Megumi, i have to feel bad for.She grew up learning how to make opium (a drug that kills people) than her family was killed leaving her alone. She was forced by her life by Konriu. She was saved my Kenshin and gumi. She now stays at the Kamiya dojo with Dr. Gensai and takes care of all the people's lives she killed by treating everyone in the city. Megumi has a good heart and is always willing to say something worth lisitening to. Somehow, she falls in love with Sanosuke.
Misao is a 16 year old girl and belongs to the Oniwabanshuu group. She grew up with Aoshi and the group and especially close with Hanya. But when she hears what happens to them, she gets upset. Even though she is known to be a strong girl, tears break out when she hears about her Aoshi. She loves him very much and is kinda a stalker to him. She is also a loyal and courages girl when it comes to fighting, using her throwing knives and martial arts. If you think about it, she's a lot like Kaoru.
Aoshi is a powerful man and former leader of the Oniwabanshuu. But even though he is powerful, he's lived a very hard and confusing life: first while defending Konriu's castle, his friends in the Onwabanshuu defend him against a gun and get killed. After that, all he wanted to do was to kill kenshin and take the title of being the strongest there is. He fights with his double kodachis and i have to say is damn good at them. But i wouldn't tell you anything else, or i'll wind up spoiling stuff..
