Pub The sounds of dwarvish drinking songs fill this tavern as does the smell of strong ale. The famous Earless Elf is close to full of Khazad discussing or shouting about their day. A great stone hearth is visible off to the right as one enters. A wooden chandelier hangs from the center of the ceiling giving a flickering light and adding a rustic feel to the ancient bar. Along with every other timeless element here, stands Mir who manages her bar with an iron hand. The fireplace is quiet, the wood there waiting to be set alit. Khelin A short hobbit with an average build, somewhere in his tweens. He has long, wavy chestnut-brown hair. His brown eyes peek out from a pale face. He is wearing a lavender shirt, over which is a plum-colored waistcoat with gilded buttons. His canary-yellow trousers go down to his unshod feet, and are held up by a pair of lemon-yellow braces with bronze buckles. On his head is a cream-colored hat, and on his back a pink cloak. Bofa You see a middle-aged Dwarf Maiden standing proudly at a few inches over four feet. Very neat in appearance with long hair, as black as her eyes, is held back by two long braids. Scattered through the braids are many small gems. Her beard is only a slight shade lighter than her hair and is tightly braided and tucked under her cloak. Dressed in all black; a warm wool cloak over a surcoat, tunic, pants, and shined black boots - each piece of clothing looking orderly at all times. On her cloak she proudly displays two brooches; one brooch depicting a pair of crossed axes with red hafts indicating her position as a Warder of Emyn Engrin and the other shows the crest of the Clan Farizhald. The only other jewelry you can see is a ring on the fourth stubby finger of the right hand. Always strapped to this Khazad's back is a large double bladed Battle Axe, its haft inlaid with colorful jewels varying in shape and size. This dwarf can usually be found enjoying a finely crafted pipe. Kang The dwarf that stands before you is of average height around four feet five inches tall. A young and strong dwarf only around the age of fifty years of age. His nose is short and stumpy, and he has eyes of black. He is covered by a long dark red cloak, that comes down to ankles. Under the cloak his studded leather armor protects him from most attacks. His hair is black and long, which comes out of the sides of his metal helm. Usually by his side or on his back is his small shield of metal. And he has a long brown beard hat comes down to the top of his belt. His belt is of a beatuiful goldish color with a large belt buckle on it. On his belt is hangs a small brown bag, for the storage of his money. He also has a sheath on this belt, that is fit to hold his short broadsword. Around his neck under his cloak is a medallion engraved on this medallion is a dagger around the dagger is a snake. Bolindar A short, yet sturdy-built dwarf stands in front of you. Long brown hairs and an immense brown beard cover his face, dark-blue eyes meet your inquisitive look. A finely woven, dark-grey hooded cloak covers his broad muscular shoulders, hanging almost down to his black boots. Beneath it he wears a shining, dwarven mail, a beautiful golden tabard running across it, and a perfectly carved metal helmet protects his head. Black pants and shirt finish the dark appearance, only interrupted by the sparkle of a mithril crest attached to his cloak showing the emblem of Emyn Engrin and a silverish medallion around his neck holding a blood-red gem. Attached to his belt rests an huge battle axe, its shaft trimed with breathtaking colorful gems. Gumbart You see a short dwarf with grey, rugged clothes. Gumbart's hair is grey and long; his beard looks a bit shaggy. Two braids have been waxed and stretch back to his ears. The piercing black eyes are sunk deep within the wrinkled face. Gumbart is simply clad: shiny black shoes; baggy brown trousers, a khaki jacket with several prussian blue patches; a nice little red felt cap. Around his neck, Gumbart is wearing a thin chain with a copper halibut on it. The fish is the size of a coin; it has a fine silver lining and five small rubies set on it. On his right hand, Gumbart is wearing the only jewelry you can see on him: a small golden ring. Under his coat, Gumbart is carrying a short broadsword. You may see it or not, depending on your inclination, because Gumbart hides it under his cloak whenever possible. This short broadsword seems to be of Easterling make. It has a plain, black grip and a heavy blade about two foot long with two nasty hooks on the back of the blade. The door opens with a loud *clank* as the Lord High Warder enters the pub. Humming a small melody he gazes through the room for any known faces, but in the end he makes for the bar and takes a seat somewhat apart of the gathered khazads. Waving to Mir he seems to order his usual. Sitting at the bar and grinning, Khelin turns to the Khazad next to him, "Ye hear bout my winnin' over Datain? I drank thirty-seven ales! I thought I was gunna burst!" He grins and waves Mir over to him to get him an ale. He starts to slurp it down and slams the mug down on the table and smiles at Mir, "Ye have some might fine ale there!" The door swings open again just as fast as it closed. Swiftly making his way into the tavern, Kang pulls down the hood of his cloak. Making his way to the bar he takes a seat and calls out to Mir, "Gimme an ale Mir!" He looks around himself, spotting Lord Bolindar, he puts his hood back on..probally in an attempt to hide himself. Gumbart enters the Tavern and carefully closes the door behind him, surveying the patrons. Spying Bofa he squints his eyes and turns for the bar. "Mir!" he calls, "Gimme some of that broth you have here!" and drops some coins on the bar. As he waits for his bowl he reflexivly weighs his purse and mumbles something. As Mir comes back and gives him his bowl, Gum takes it and looks for a table. He stands, unsure, looking at Bofa and at some of the other tables in the room. Kang sits at the bar table. Bolindar sits at the bar table. Mir nods to Bolindar, her hands planted firmly on her hips, "That'll be 5 Copper Pennies, fer the Dragon's Breath Ale." Bolindar hands over some coins to Mir for his order. Mir grunts and slips around the bar, returning after a few short moments with Bolindar's order of Dragon's Breath Ale. Bofa sits at the stone table hovered over a hot bowl of stew. Glancing up from her bowl only as she hears the tavern door open and Bolindar enters. Standing up quickly she calls out to him as she bows "G'day M'Lord..." Before she has a chance to go further, Kang enters the tavern. Bofa shakes her head and smirks as he tries to hide himself. Taking her seat again she leans back in her chair and watches the group at the bar. Gumbart spies an empty seat on the Iron bar and makes for it. As he sits he catches Bofa's eyes and raises his hand for a hesitant wave. Calmly, the old dwarf starts eating his broth. After he finishes, he deliberatly wipes the bowl with some old bread. After a moment he looks up and calls Mir, "Some Ale here, please!" You sit at the iron table. Bolindar clears almost half of his ale with one big sip. With a satisfied grunt he turns his head and gazes through the great pub again. Suddenly the expression on his face changes, small wrinkles around his eyes he stares at the entering scout. Following his way to the bar, he seemingly gets more angry and irrate, yet he stays silent. Turning his head slightly, Kang, glances at Bofa..her face staring at her bowl, a slight smile on her face. Shaking his head slightly, he pulls a few coins from his pocket, and places them on the table. As Mir hands Kang, an ale, she swiftly picks up the coins from the bar table. Taking a pull from his ale, he turns his head, and spots Lord Bolindar staring at him. A drop of sweat comes down his face, as he pulls down the hood of his cloak. Nodding slightly to the Lord he speaks softly, "Good day M'Lord...." his voice trails off as he turns back to his ale, gulping it down. As Bofa watches the Lord High Warder approach the scout, her attention is distracted briefly by the merchant from the Lonely Mountain. With a dismissive wave of her hand and a rather unthusiastic grunt she says "Akh, hail Master Gumbart" then returns her stare to the Steward and the scout. Bolindar nods slowly to Kang, still staring most angry, almost furious at him. "Good day Master Kang..." Sharp as a blade the words of the High Warder are aimed at the scout. Turning slightly Bolindar seizes his mug and takes a quick sip. Yet at all times his eyes stay fixated on the small figure at the bar. As Kang, takes a pull from his mug, he turns his head back towards Bolindar, "Ye seem to be...hostile.." He takes another gulp of ale then continues.. "Would ye like to speak your mind? I am always listening.." Almost shouting Bolindar turns to Kang, "Don't give me that disrespectful tone and attitude again. My patience is spent with you. I'll have no more of this." Staying silent, he meets the scout's proud look for almost a lifetime. At last turning aside he raises his mug again and motions for Mir to refill it. Yet once more he points at Kang and says, "You know the consequences of this kind of behaviour..." Kang glares at Bolindar, "This kind of behaviour? I have done nothing, M'Lord.. I ask ye a question..and ye think I have an attitude?" He takes a gulp of his ale, then slams down the have empty mug on the counter. "Aye, I do know the consequences of 'this behaviour' though i did nothing to earn this.." Datain strolls into the pub rubbing his head as if having a massive migrain. He thinks about joining the tableful of his cousins until he becomes aware of the shouting radaiting from the table and takes a seat at the bar. "Mir give me something without spirits in it today, and be quick with it," with that order Datain slams his head to the counter and waits for his drink. Startled by the Steward, Bofa straightens in her chair and studies him as he scolds the scout. Shaking her head she breaths in deeply and holds it for a few moments. As she exhales, Kang responds and Bofa releases an awfully loud gasp, shocked and disgusted by his behavior. His face almost darkred Bolindar jumps from his seat and shouts at Kang, "You insult your Commander as I've never heard before from anyone else, you start rumours on every corner about him. You do more damage to our armed forces than any of our worst foes. I asked you to stop this and I won't ask you again." He points at Bofa, "And next time you will greet your High Warder and Steward with more spirit and dignity. Take this brave warder as shining example." He pauses taking a deep breath, "I won't allow this within our scouts. You're a member of one of our elite squadrons, act like that !" Gumbart watches the exchange silently across the rim of his mug of ale. He seems to mutter something under his breath. As nobody seems to be watching, a smirk crosses his face. Through squinted eyes he continues to watch Kang. Kang nods to Bolindar, "I am sorry M'Lord, but as I said...we haven't been on the same track latly...I will stop my words.." He grabs his mug and takes a pull of his ale. Then turning round a second to see all the glaring faces staring at him. He shouts sternly, "What are ye all looking at?" He shakes his head and then focuses back on Bolindar. Bolindar glares at Kang, "Not on the same track ? Not on the same track ? How dare you ? I have enough with you, you hear me, enough of this. You..." he points at the female warder, "Bofa is it ? If this scout here doesn't find a way to excuse himself and back to his manners at once, you'll escort him to the cells." He turns his head and stares at Kang again. Bofa straightens in her chair and holds her head up as the Steward mentions her name. Overcome with pride she stares at her superior and gives him a nod of thanks yet says not a word. Her cheerful expression is however short-lived as the scout shouts above the tavern noise at the patrons. Just as Bolindar addresses her she pushes her bowl away and scoots her chair back. Standing quickly she takes the few steps towards them and takes her place behind the scouts stool. With her arms folded across her chest she says sternly "Aye M'Lord, would be my pleasure!" Gumbart stares into his mug, pretending not to hear and not to see. Kang closes his eyes for a second, then opens them back up.. "Well...what can I say?" He scratches his chin... "Well, I am sorry M'Lord.." He says bowing his head, "But I can only do what ye wish..If ye wish for me to be put in jail..Then who am I to say other wise.." He takes a final pull from his mug and slams it down. Standing up from his stool he bows before Lord Bolindar. " I am ready to face what I earned...Which is what you choose to make it..So my faith is in your hands...And so is my forgivness.." He drop his head slightly, then stands there straight up..awaiting the words from Bolindar. Hearing that this confrontation has turned to threats, Datain, now drinking his Ale he didnt order, thinks, "How can i make a profit from this?" After thinking this Datain simply watches the goings on. Bolindar's obviously baffled by Kang's reply and he takes some time to think about his next words, "I think you need more than that. You've stepped over the line too far and more than once. Maybe some days in jail will give ya time to rethink your attitude and your loyalty to your superior officers. The armed forces can only work through a strict chain of command, which you are obviously denying at the moment." He gestures to Bofa, "Take him away..." Bofa bows deeply to the Steward and then looks at Kang and shakes her head. Giving Kang a look of disappointment she sighs and says "As ye wish M'Lord." Placing one hand on on Kang's shoulder and holding out her other she says "Yer weapon Scout...hand it over." Gumbart gets up slowly, first looking at the three dwarves at the bar, then at the circle that has formed around them as more and more patrons are moving away from the scene, and finally at the door. Slowly he edges closer to the door, keeping an eye on everybody. As Bofa places her hand on his shoulder, he sharply pulls away and takes a few steps back.. "Ye want it?" He scratches his bear, and unshethes his sword, swinging it around, ovbiously showing off, he stops the sword and points it to the ground, leaning on the hilt. "I have seen what ye did to the last prisoner..Ye really think a few bars could hold me?" He laughs and tosses Bofa his sword. "There ye go.." He turns and makes way for the door. Bofa picks up the Ragnarok. Gumbart leaves the Earless Elf. Bolindar watches the scout finally handing over his weapon. Somewhat confident he heads for the door and leaves the pub quickly. As Kang pulls away from her, Bofa gives him a cold hard stare. As he begins to swing his sword about she places her hands on her hips, unimpressed. Holding her hand up as the sword comes to her, she grabs it by the hilt and follows him to the door.
