Northern Entry to Buhr Mahrling A well used wooden dock extends out into the flow of the river with many punts and river craft moored to its pylons. The whole dock creaks and groans as it shifts slightly in the current. Closer inspection will reveal that the dock is not terribly safe. Barrels and crates lie haphazzardly around the dock, and the large warehouse backs onto it. Looming above the warehouse in the distance is the large form of the water wheel that Buhr Mahrling is famed for. Dock workers scurry back and forth, and the jetty is a hive of activity as people haul goods to-and-fro. Middle-earth time is: Daytime on Sunday, Day 16 of November. Gumbart You see a short dwarf with grey, rugged clothes. Gumbart's hair is grey and long; his beard looks a bit shaggy. Two braids have been waxed and stretch back to his ears. The piercing black eyes are sunk deep within the wrinkled face. Gumbart is wearing travelling clothes: big, strong boots; a coarse, dark coat; a black hat. On his right hand, Gumbart is wearing the only jewelry you can see on him: a small golden ring. Fenris Black eyes like coal stare out at an unfriendly world. The man before you notices every movement, his eyes darting back and forth. The colour of his skin is dark like men from the south of Gondor, and he has a shaved head, he stands about 6'1 and weighs approx. 240lbs of rippling muscle, yet his movements are of a lrge cat, graceful and subtle. The man has a rust coloured cape half drawn over his head. His clothing is also of the same dirty coloured material. This keeps him well camouflaged. Under his overshirt is a hint of leather armor. Amidst the general noise of the docks, you an old dwarf packing his things. The other dwarven merchants are still haggling, buying and selling things, their warders are watching the natives with an uneasy eye. The old dwarf is muttering and cursing under his breath. Fenris is looking around... then looks at the dwarf.."Greetings, i am Fenris, scout of the Dales, who might you be?" Gumbart looks up, irritated and sweating. He wipes his brow and bows, "Gumbart, at your service. Pleased to meet you. Are you one of the scouts that will escort us back to the Iron Hills?" Fenris hrms and rubs his chin, studing the dwarf.."Well a pleasure to meet you Gumbart, though thats not my duties at the moment i can guide you back as far as the Dale-lands.. how is that?" Gumbart shakes his head. "Hm, you would have to talk to our troupe leader, Toran, I think. He organized this trip in the first place. If you are not the official scout he recruited... I shall not leave the company of my fellow cousins in any case." He rolls up the last tapestry and stores the last bag of coffee beans in the saddle bags for his ponies and wipes his sweating eye brows again. "Do you know Buhr Mahrling? Perhaps we could have a drink or something, instead?" Fenris shakes his head.. and smiles.."No not really, though there is an inn, right inside the city(ooc forgot where it is).. I have to make my way back, hopefully on your way back.. stop in the Dale-lands for a visit Gumbart?" Gumbart grins, "I shall look out for you! Sorry to see you go." Fenris nods and wavez.."Good, i look forward to seeing you again, safe journies on your travels, and good trading.." holds out a hand.."Oh when you come bring some of that famous Dwarven ale, so we can swap stories.. be seeing ya" Gumbart waves.
