About KENPROKENPRO, is a
fast growing organization, which was started in July 2006 following a
research that was conducted to find out the major challenges facing
community based organizations and self help groups in remote areas of
Kajiado District in Rift Valley Province of Kenya (Wanjohi,
2006). Initially, this organization was known as PIMI (Projects
Identification and Management International). By the end of 2007, the
organization adopted a new name, namely KENPRO to reflect its very root
and scope. It was also during this time that the directors considered
registering it. During the time of registration there were 16 members
(also referred to as associates). Today, KENPRO boasts of having over 30
associates many of whom are the very clientele served by the organization.
The organization is engaged in education and social science research,
projects monitoring and evaluation and IT (information Technology). Management

comprises of a number of stakeholders who form a crucial part of its
