School Rules

1 No chewing gum in class.
2 Address Instructors as “Mr.” “Mrs.” or “Miss.” Respect the rank, and when you get there, you will also be respected.
3 No student is to teach another student, although an Instructor may ask a student to assist him or her to demonstrate a technique in a controlled situation.
4 No student is to use weapons or equipment before, during, or after class, without the Instructor’s permission.
5 If you are late for class, please wait outside the Dojo area until an Instructor bows you into class.  When you arrive for class, please enter quietly, hang your jacket, place your shoes on the shoe rack, then have a seat around the Dojo area and relax, stretch or talk quietly.
6 Please bow in and out of the Dojo out of respect for your learning area.
7 If you do not know someone that is in our Academy, please introduce yourself to him or her.
8 All students will wear the white student uniform until the rank of purple belt, at which rank. The student may wear a black student uniform, if they prefer.  At the rank of 3rd degree brown belt, students may wear a red student uniform.  Students are not allowed to mix white and black tops and pants.  Only instructors may mix black and white uniforms.  However, once a student reaches the rank of 3rd degree brown belt, he/she may mix a red or black top with red or black pants.
9 Wrestling shoes are allowed in class, or you may choose to take class barefoot.  No stocking feet.
10 The belt knot is to be worn on the left for men, the right for women, and the center for Blackbelt Instructors.
11 We promote good sportsmanship in our Academy, so please use control when performing your techniques.
12 Remember, we are a team helping each other to learn, so if someone makes a mistake, learn by their mistake, and do not criticize them or laugh at them
13 Please do not wear jewelry during class.  This is for your own safety as well as others. 
This includes earrings.
14 If you have long hair, please tie it up for class.
15 Students are not allowed in the board breaking area without the permission of an Instructor.
16 Students are not allowed in the climbing wall area without the permission of an Instructor.
17 Students are not allowed to use the stretching machine without the proper training from an Instructor.
18 No sitting, standing, or leaning on the walls of the fishpond.
19 Do not place any hands, fingers or other objects in the fishpond.
20 Do not feed the fish.
21 Please help keep our bathrooms neat and clean by cleaning up after yourself.
22 Make an effort to attend class as many times as you can.  Work hard and you will obtain the rank you are striving for.
23 All students are required to have all required patches on their uniforms before they test for the rank of blue belt.
24 Promotions are based on a point system and one's ability to perform the required technique and forms.
25 Parents are always welcome to stay and view classes.
26 Payment for the next month's lessons is due on or before the same day each consecutive month from when you started. (Example: If you started karate on April 16th, your next payment is due on or before May 16th).
