What is DeMolay

Home Up

DeMolay is the worlds largest  fraternity  for young men age 12 to 21.   It brings together teens from varied background by highlighting there common interests.

DeMolay was founded in 1919 by Frank S. Land, in Kansas City, Missouri.  The first Chapter started with 9 members.  Today there are about 1000 Chapters in the United States.  There are also Chapters in 9 other countries.

DeMolay Chapters are run by the members.  There are adult advisors who offer guidance and support, but the members run the meetings and activities.  The premise is that young men can learn life long skills and grow to be the best they can be through hands on leadership roles.

DeMolay has had many members go onto become famous and influential in their chosen fields of endeavor.  Some of those you might recognize are Walt Disney, John Wayne, John Steinbeck, James Lovell, Dan Rather and Fran Tarkenton.
