Tenchi

For those who thought otherwise,Tenchi is the main character of the programme,he is 17 and was living life normally up until he broke into a cave at his Grampa's house one summer.....

Since Tenchi first went to see his Granfather when he was young he (Tenchi) has be trained by his Grandfather in the art of sword play each summer when he was off school.He barely ever trained when he was at home with his father,he was unsure why he was trained but he just accepted it.Tenchi's mother died when he was very young (about 5 or 6 years old).His father Noboyuki and his grandfather Katsuhito raised,this where he gets his great sense of rsponsibility.

Early on,Katsuhito sensed great power within him.Tenchi learened quikly and soon became a master swordsman.Tenchi can create three light hawk wings.I'm not sure if he could do this since birth or since he was regenerated by Tsunami.

When it comes to women,Tenchi is undecicive and unbelivebly blind to their advances,(especially Ryoko's) Most of the women around him are interested but he doesn't notice

In each series of Tenchi his sword has been introduced somehow in the OAV(Tenchi Muyo!) it was used to remove Ryoko's three gems and it was then used to imprison her in a cave forever.Thinking that the sword had been broken in the fight with Ryoko the people in the nearby village forged a new iron blade.

When Katsuhito's daughter had a baby boy (aaawwww) he was named after the sword.By the time Tenchi found the sword it was 700 years old.It breaks almost immediatly after Tenchi remove sit from the scabbard.However it has retained its power and splits a mossy,rune covered rock when Tenchi hits it.This opens the cave where Ryoko is being held.In the hilt of the sword are three gems which caused Ryoko's release.

Tenchiken (the Japanese name for the sword) is also known as "Master Key".This is due to the fact that it was the key for Yosho's ship,Funaho.Funaho,like all other Jurai spaceships came from a branch of the Tree of Jurai.The shape of the Key is dependant on the user.For examle Aeka's key is her Tiara.Since he was to become king ,Yosho recived his key from Tsunami,the first spaceship tree.HIs key could operate all other spaceship trees hence the Master Key.Since he was a master swords man he chose to have his key in the form of a very powerful light saber type weapon.By very powerful I mean VERY powerful.Even if he chose it to be a toaster it could still kick your ass several times over.

In Tenchi Universe the sword is pretty much the same but the hilt is smaller and lacks the gems.The function is the same but it can't control all the spaceship trees.It apperars breifly in Tenchi in Love when it was used to kill Kain

In Tenchi in Tokyo the sword has a completly diffrent appernce.It is made up of crystals of even length and was given to Tenchi by his mother before she died.Due to its sentamental value Tenchi made a necklace out of it.When the girls begin to fall into Tenchi's life he give each of them a crystal.Each of them wear a crystal somewhere on their body.
