We are living in Australia to attend James Cook University in Townsville, which is on the northeast coast. Kenny is working towards his Bachelor's in GIS/Remote Sensing and Amanda towards her Master's in Natural Resource Management. Kenny's program should take about 3 1/2 years, and Amanda's about 2. We arrived in July 2001 and will be finished with our degrees in November 2004.

What we've been doing since we arrived in Australia....
Found a great house near the Uni that has a perfect backyard for cats and barbeques
Studied a little....
Visited the south island of New Zealand - walked the Milford Track and stayed on a sheep farm
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!
Took advantage of a 5-hour layover in Sydney to see Darling Harbour and the Opera House
Traveled to Bali - took a traditional Balinese cooking class and biked through the countryside
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!
Drove to the Atherton Tablelands - viewed the magnificent Curtain Fig Tree and Lake Eacham
Studied some more....
Had our first visitors from the US - Kenny's dad, sister Karen, and friend Brandy came for a two-week visit. We toured Townsville, drove to Cairns for a day at Kuranda (took the train up and sky-rail down), took a guided tour north to Cape Tribulation, and rented a houseboat for a four-day cruise in the picture perfect Hinchenbrook Island area.
Kept on studying - will it ever end?....
Most recently, we've been planning a much needed trip home for the holidays. We can't wait to see everybody again!
