So who's gonna be in it?
Nathan Fillion ("Two Guys and a Girl") has been cast as Capt. Malcolm "Mal" Reynold.
Alan Tudyk (A Knight's Tale) has signed on.  Tudyk will play Wash, a mercenary member of the ship's crew.
Unfortunately, that's about all we know.  Hang on, this could be some new info coming in now.  Let's see...
Nope sorry.  This something about The Sting in the Tail Kennie and Her Friend are expecting for an upcoming episode of Buffy.  They've asked me not to say anything so...sorry guys.

Fine, be that way.  Can you at least tell us the plot of Firefly?
Set almost 500 years in the future in a newly established Union of Planets, Firefly centers on Reynolds, the owner and the captain of a small, incredibly mobile "Firefly"-class transport spaceship named Serenity. The time period in the series is a version of the post-Civil War Reconstruction era, with Reynolds as a disillusioned war veteran.
"He's a very dark, driven guy," -  Whedon.
Enough information?  Tough.

Aww, c'mon!  Are there gonna be any appearances made by an Buffy characters?
Um, as far as I'm aware, no.  Except for the obvious possibilty that...  Never mind.

Tell!  Tell!!
Okay, just remember that you forced me into this.  Kennie will not be happy if I say too much.
Basically, remember all that discussion we had a while back about the possibility of a Buffy character crossing over onto Angel permanently by the end of this current (USA) season?  Well, it currently looks as though whoever it is isn't gonna go to Angel after all.  It looks as though they'll be going to Firefly.  And dying on Buffy.  Permanently.

*looks around furtively*  I've said too much already, Kennie's bottom lip is beginning to tremble.  Gotta go.

EXCLUSIVE

Darn it!  I can't go.  This just in from the elusive Kennie's Friend herself peeps!!

"One of the Scooby gang will not be "with" us for long, is this because they're jumping ship to new project Firefly? (actually most of it is ruse, one of them DOES have an offer, but there are contingency plans, so that one might get Jossed)"

New from Kennie:

Jo, how many times do I have to tell you, stop it with the oblique references that Willow is gonna die.  I'm just not willing to accept that she could die that easily.  Here's some of the latest gossip on Firefly.  Do you have enough time to put it up on the site this week, or do you want me to do it?

The spaceship for Firefly is currently being built on the Fox lot, where the series is scheduled to begin production in early March. Firefly is set to premiere in the fall, with a two-hour pilot written and directed by Joss Whedon himself. Speculation has the show inheriting the 'X-Files' Sunday
9 p.m. timeslot.
