PARTICIPANTS’ SUPPORT GROUP

RATIONALE

Very often there are members who represent the church at

various events. These member benefit from the events but

on a number of occasions they do not get the opportunity

to share the experiences with the local church. It is hoped

that the establishment of a Participants’ support group will

enhance the possibility for sharing on the part of the participant

and the local. Each participant is therefore encouraged to

establish a ‘Support Group’.

The Support Group will:

  1. Assist participants in preparation for the workcamp
  2. Suggest and support participants with fundraising activities
  3. Be involved in the commissioning and covenanting service of the participant before they leave for the workcamp
  4. Be involved in the Reception and Dedication service of the participants when they return from the workcamp
  5. Become part of the "Friends of CANACOM" group or ‘Education In Mission Support group"
  6. Assist participants in identifying ways which they can become involved in the life of the church and community when they return from workcamp and work with them
  7. Assist participants with presentations and display when they return from workcamp.

Any other activity which will help the local church feel more

a part of the workcamp event and to support the participant.
