*Fauna, Drac's mate has their child and they find that it is a boy! Just what Drac always wanted, for long ago he had a girl, his only still living born child, Laura! Now Drac has a baby boy and he names him Jason, after the famous Greek Jason and the Argonauts. Drac and Fauna are very happy, though are sad because John's daughter Mina died... That fact and thought brings down the moral of the vampire family, and affects John most of all. Drac knows that John feels great self pity because his baby girls never live long and that John feels that he is the worst father in history.*
*Since Drac and Fauna's new baby son Jason was born in the hospital, word gets to Dixie like it always does. She calls up the lucky father.*
Dixie-Drac! Hi, it's Dixie! Is it alright if I put you three in the paper?
Drac- Fine! Sure! No better way to show the pride of a father! But poor John........ :'(
*Drac feels John's pain of loss of family*
Dixie-You weren't being sarcastic to me, were you Drac? I won't if you don't want me to. What happened to John during the protest? I don't know what went on, I thought it safe for me to stay where I was. Is it because of Mina?
Drac- Dixie, I was being enthusiastic! Yes, please! Publish my son's birth in the paper! And as for John...well...it was controversy being that his vampire spirit procreated and the mortals still thought he as evil and still trying to take over the city with more vampires. This is totally false. a miracle like that doesn't happen daily!! Five puppies! That's more than I had in one litter!! Vampires have this procreation problem, which is, it never happens frequently. Although the city might THINK so, but between having children for ONE vampire can be centuries or millenium!! And the reason most of us are procreating at the same time is much like mammals going into heat. One feed off another's timing, thus creating a chain reaction.
Procreation is a lot on timing and environment, a vampire will not procreate if they feel threatened. It also depends on any soul mates or worthy mates! it was just John's time! Nothing more!
Dixie-Okay, I'll be more than happy to publish news on your son's birth :) Also, should I publish the truth about what you told me about John and other vampires? I mean, it makes sense to me, and I'm mortal! I think if "I" can understand and respect what you're saying, the others should as well. It isn't right for people to persecute John and other vampires like they have, there's no reason for it at all. They owe all of you an apology. In my personal opinion they should know the truth and respect it just like I do. I feel sorry for all of you that all this happened. We should talk to Leon about it, if there's anyone who can change the mind of the people, it's him and support of the people. I've known Leon for years and been his secretary for a total of 18 years so far, I see what he writes and hear what he says, and know what he feels, he can't allow this kind of negativity to continue. One final note, Drac, I believe you, and you have my support.
Drac- Dixie, perhaps that would be a good idea to publish the truth about John. and...thank you for your support...:')
Dixie-For your sake, and the sake of all vampires, I will publish the absolute truth about vampires. In addition, before I publish, I will have a page or so just devoted to signatures signifying understanding, acknowledgement, acceptance, and respect of what the supporters have read. I will be the first to sign :) The vampires came to this city to seek sanctuary from the cruel and heartless outside world, not to continue to feel it within. If we want to continue to live in peace and harmony, then the madness must stop and learn to accept one another for who they are, no matter their religion, ideals, morals, devotions, etc. Again Drac, you have my support, and I will fight for you :)
Drac- Thank you Dixie. :') just don't die for your purpose.
Dixie-You are welcome Drac, and...a purpose such as this IS worth dying for, but it is my hope that we are logical beings.
Drac- no. causes like this aren't worth dying for. because after it escalates, we will be annihilated, and what good would that do us?
Dixie- you're right, sorry I said that. But I did write that document, The Truth about Vampires, I hope everyone will take the time to read it and think, think about what they have done wrong. I, just as much as you, want this discrimination to end once and for all.
Drac- yes, well...I've got my bags packed....just in case... I think the tension is higher now between the two species than ever before. it's like waiting for mount St. Helens to erupt... not pleasant.
Dixie-You don't seem too optimistic about this whole thing, I'm sorry to hear that :( If this doesn't pull through, then I don't know what to do...
Drac- a vampire can never be optimistic when a controversy of interests is involved. no one person can see the light of the other's side.
Dixie-True that "No one person can see the light of the other's side", but many people can help the other side see the light at the end of the tunnel, I hope. Right now, all we can do is wait and see what happens. Please, don't leave yet, we don't even have an official decision by the whole.
Drac- alright, but anxiety is very high. I have a sneaking suspicion that vampires are already leaving and some have already left!! I don't like this at all!!! (He's worried, not mad)
Dixie-You really think some of the vampires have already left?! If that's true than the others may follow suit! This isn't good! Those blasted protestors! >:O
Drac- Dixie, as I've said to Sherry, damned if I will be scared out of my home! I am going against all instincts to leave and I will stay and fight for those who have left and then I will fight to get them back. and if something is not done quickly, then the mortals WILL have something to fear from THIS vampire...
Dixie-You're right, the time to act is now. I am on your side Drac, and so are others. I have no doubt Leon is doing everything he can to try to stop this injustice, as well as us. We will find out soon what will happen.
Drac- and when we do find out I will act.
