EULOGY

Today we bid farewell to our dear Ken, a husband, father, son, relative and friend.  No matter what the relationship all of us have lost something so special we may never find it again.

He touched us all in a unique way that made a difference in our lives.  We are the lucky ones to have had him if even if for such a short while.

We will always remember the humor, the smile, the laughter and the love.  Lets not forget the jokes, his love of good food, music, science fiction, bowling, astronomy, the Cleveland Indians, and his favorite programs Jeopardy and the Weather Channel

On a more personal note, Ill always remember our children growing up together, trips to Frankenmuth and Shipshewana, 4th of July fireworks, holiday dinners, birthdays and anniversaries we spent together, hours of great philosophical conversations, an over 28 years of wonderful close friendship.  We laughed together over lifes joys, and cried together over lifes trials and tribulations.

Cindy and Carrie were Kens most prized lifes possessions.  He was so proud of his daughters accomplishments and shared with her their dual college graduation from U.T. in 1997.  He shared with Cindy 31 years of marriage and friendship, and enjoyed doing many craft shows with her throughout the years.  They were a tight family, always showing love and respect toward each other.

As a brother and a son, you couldnt have asked for better.  He was the proverbial big brother to his sisters, and shared with his father a close relationship.

To his whole extended family he was exceptional, and they were appreciative of the time they had with him.

Kens personality drew people to him.  He was the epitome of a nice guy.  He had this incredible knack of remembering names and faces, and seemed to constantly run into people he knew; proving that it is indeed a small world.

Butone day an enemy arrived in the name of cancer.  It tried very hard to change our Ken, but he struggle on with determination to not let it.  At first small changes occurred, then much larger ones later on, but his love was always present.  You could feel it in the great big bear hugs and kisses that he lavished on us all.  He may have struggled for words on occasion, but you always knew what he was trying to say to your when he grabbed onto you and squeezed.

So, today we give back to God one of the gentlest souls that ever lived.

And so we set his spirit free
To move to a higher plane.
And hold his memory close to our heats,
Until we meet again.
