| The washboard on the left is worn on one's shoulders, and is frequently used by zydeco bands. The one on the right is an antique wood-framed washboard. Both are usually played with knitting thimbles, a spoon, finger picks, etc. The player is often asked to step way back in the room (or perhaps to play in another room). |
