Worthy Is the
Lamb!
The symbolism and meaning
of Passover is very dear to my heart. It is simply the one season of the year
that I love the most. The redeeming sacrifice of my Lord Jesus and what He did
for me resonates strongly as the Passover theme. Passover is the first sacred
time of the calendar; it starts the year, being in the first month. In the same
way, the death of Jesus is also a just beginning; He died, rose, returned to
takes His place beside the Father, and will return as Messiah the High Priest
and High King of the Earth to bring the final fulfilment of this great season.
This page is dedicated to
the Passover, my Lord Yeshua’s great sacrifice for
me; specifically, the very first time I partook of the Passover: In memory of
(among other things) the liberation of the Israelite slaves, the Passover meal
that Jesus had with his disciples before He died, His betrayal and death, and
proclaiming the Kingdom in all its glory.
Hallelu Yah! Thank You for my Passover!

Passover:
The Lord whose judgment passed over
His people
Exodus 12:3
Tell the whole community of Israel that on the tenth day of this month each man
is to take a lamb for his family, one for each household.
Exodus 12:6
Take care of them until the fourteenth day of the month, when all the people of
the community of Israel must slaughter them at twilight.
Exodus 12:7 Then they are to take some of the blood and put it on the sides and
tops of the doorframes of the houses where they eat the lambs.
Exodus 12:12
“On that same night I will pass through Egypt and strike down every
firstborn—both men and animals—and I will bring judgment on all the gods of
Egypt. I am the LORD.
Exodus 12:13 The blood will be a sign for you on the
houses where you are; and when I see the blood, I will pass over you. No
destructive plague will touch you when I strike Egypt.
Exodus 12:26 And when your children ask you, ‘What does this ceremony
mean to you?’
Exodus 12:27 then tell them, ‘It is the Passover sacrifice to the LORD, who
passed over the houses of the Israelites in Egypt and spared our homes when he
struck down the Egyptians.’ ” Then the people bowed down and worshiped.
Passover:
The Lord, the Lamb, who suffered in atonement for the world
John 1:29 The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Look,
the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!
Matthew 26:2 “As you know, the Passover is two days away—and the Son of
Man will be handed over to be crucified.”
Isaiah 53:2 He
grew up before him like a tender shoot, and like a root out of dry ground. He
had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him, nothing in his appearance that
we should desire him.
Isaiah 53:3 He was despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows, and familiar
with suffering. Like one from whom men hide their faces he was despised, and we
esteemed him not.
Isaiah 53:4 Surely he took up our infirmities and
carried our sorrows, yet we considered him stricken by God, smitten by him, and
afflicted.
Isaiah 53:5 But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities;
the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are
healed.
Isaiah 53:7 He
was oppressed and afflicted, yet he did not open his mouth; he was led like a
lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is silent, so he did
not open his mouth.
Colossians
2:14 Christ has utterly wiped out the damning evidence of broken laws and
commandments which always hung over our heads, and has completely annulled it
by nailing it over his own head on the cross.
(The
New Testament in Modern English, by J.B. Phillips)
1 Corinthians 5:7 Get rid of the old yeast that you may be a
new batch without yeast—as you really are. For Christ, our Passover lamb, has been
sacrificed.
Passover:
The Lord’s Supper
Matthew 26:17 On the first day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread, the
disciples came to Jesus and asked, “Where do you want us to make preparations
for you to eat the Passover?”
Matthew 26:18 He replied, “Go into the city to a
certain man and tell him, ‘The Teacher says: My appointed time is near. I am
going to celebrate the Passover with my disciples at your house.’ ”
Matthew 26:19 So the disciples did as Jesus had
directed them and prepared the Passover.
Matthew 26:26
While they were eating, Jesus took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it
to his disciples, saying, “Take and eat; this is my
body.”
Matthew 26:27 Then he took the cup, gave thanks
and offered it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of
you.
Matthew 26:28 This is
my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of
sins.
John
13:3 Jesus knew that the Father had put all things
under his power, and that he had come from God and was returning to God;
John 13:4 so he got up from the meal, took off his outer clothing, and wrapped
a towel around his waist.
John 13:5 After that, he poured water into a basin and
began to wash his disciples’ feet, drying them with the towel that was wrapped
around him.
John 13:12 When he had finished washing their feet, he
put on his clothes and returned to his place. “Do
you understand what I have done for you?” he asked them.
John 13:13 “You call me ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord,’ and rightly so, for
that is what I am.
John 13:14 Now that I, your Lord and
Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet.
John 13:15 I have set you an
example that you should do as I have done for you.
Passover:
The Unleavened Bread of Life

John 6:35 Then
Jesus declared, "I am the bread of life. He who
comes to me will never go hungry, and he who believes in me will never be
thirsty.
John 6:54 Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood
has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.
1 Corinthians 10: 17 For we, though many, are one bread
and one body; for we all partake of that one bread.
(NKJV)
Passover:
Shadowing the Feast of the Kingdom
Matthew 26:28 This
is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness
of sins.
Matthew 26:29 I tell you, I will not drink of
this fruit of the vine from now on until that day when I drink it anew with you
in my Father's kingdom.”
Luke 22:15 And he said to them, “I have eagerly
desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer.
Luke 22:16 For I tell you, I will not eat it
again until it finds fulfillment in the kingdom of God.”
Revelation 19:9
Then the angel said to me, “Write: ‘Blessed are those
who are invited to the wedding supper of the Lamb!’ ” And he added,
“These are the true words of God.”
