Words are not sufficient to express the gratitude
owed to Veterans of all branches of service of the United States.
I am proud to have served in the U. S. Army
between 1972 and 1975,
primarily with the
2nd Infantry Division, 6th Batallion 37th Field Artillery
in Ui Jong Bu, South Korea.  I also served with the 2nd Bn of the 4th Artillery (105mm Howitzer) at Camp Stanley, South Korea,
and Headquarters Battery of  Division Artillery in the
9th Infantry Division at Fort Lewis, WA.
Of course, there was that little TDY thing too.

The "Indian-Head" patch of the 2nd Inf. Div., shown above,
represents a division renown for its service in WWII and Korea.

"2nd Division, Second to None."
The "On the Minute" unit crest of the 6th Bn 37th FA
represents a storied past as well.

I served as a 13B20 M6, field artillery crewman, with the
"Special Weapons" M6 designation for tactical nuclear weapons.
I was assigned to both Alpha and Charlie Batteries between
1973 and 1975.  Alpha, Bravo and Charlie batteries had
the old 155mm towed howitzers (pigs) while Delta battery
used the big 8 - inchers.  I worked my way up from "powder man"
to "gunner" to "section chief" and then took correspondence
courses from Ft. Sill andmoved into the FDC (fire direction center).

I hope you enjoy this little walk through my experiences in the Army, the artillery and overseas.  Feel free to browse, link to
Fort Sill, home of the
"Redlegs", or back to my home page.
Drop me a line or e-mail, I'd love to hear from you.
Keep the faith, an
d "FIRE FOR EFFECT!"

The new "easy" 155 towed.
This is the 155mm towed howitzer on which I served,
circa 1973 on the DMZ, Korea, complete with one unnamed - who was also the Gunner.
