The volume of literature from medical research is HUGE.  I have tried to leverage the research of various doctors and researchers that have done extensive "homework" and digested the information to make it palatable to me.  Here is my current list.  They all appear to be pointed in the same direction, that gives consistent and supportable answers.  In addition, their results seem to correlate with my personal experience.
Dr. Matthais Rath Eliminate cancer and artherosclerosis using simple set of dietary supplements.  His research results are outstanding.
Dr. McDougall
Recommends a daily low fat and minimal animal protein diet.  Excellent results.
Dr. Robert Cathcart Mega doses of vitamin C to eradicate most diseases.  Uses bowel tolerance to determine adequate vitamin C.  It works for me.
Handle blood clotting causes of death via TMG-Betaine supplement.
Dr. Kunin
Dr. Nakamatsu Very creative person plans to live "three lifetimes."  So far my results agree what he has found but he has gone much further.
Wrote a very useful book to deal with particular medical problems indexed by disease with natural solutions/cures.

Life Extension Forum (LEF) This appears to be one of the most advanced thinking group that culls through all the medical research literature. Their results are synthesized into a vitamin regimen, which they sell.

This local group (Los Altos, CA) is dedicated to finding and disseminating up-to-date and reliable information relating to optimal wellness, cognitive enhancement and longevity.
Dr. Roy Walford
Pragmatically combines the best known health practices then backs it up with references, scientific experimental data and quantitative measurements of progress.  His recent book explains what it takes to live 150 years or more using today's technology and knowledge--"Beyond The 120 Year Diet."
