Ken Hirai will be performing on Mtv's unplugged next year in January 2003. He
will be the first male japanese singer who perform unplugged in New York, USA.
Mtv unplugged is a well known music show that featuring musician from around the
world to play the very basic of music, using only accoustic sounds and instruments.
Named Jay-Z, Eric Clapton, Baby Face, Mariah Carey have been on stage previously.
Utada Hikaru herself was the first female Japanese singer who perform on stage.

Singer Hirai Ken (30) has confirmed that he will attend
NHK's annual event "Kohaku Utagassen" (starts 7:30 p.m. on 12-31-2002).
According to authorities, Ken will be in New York for work, so he will be broadcasted
live in New York. The last time an artist was broadcasted live on Kohaku was Nagabuchi
Tsuyoshi (46) in Berlin 12 years ago. It is most likely that Ken will be singing
the big cover hit song "ooki na furu tokei".

Ken Hirai's 5th album titled "LIFE is..."
(DFCL1092) is scheduled January, 22th 2002 for the release date. The album will
be featuring tracks like Strawberry Sex, Missin You ~It Will Break My Heart~.
Moreover, Ken Hirai Films vol.5 (DFBL7056) DVD is on the run too. I don't know
it's release date yet, but will soon find out. Will be featuring footage from
"KH re-mixed up 1" CD, and "One Love Wonderful World".

Ken Hirai Unplugged

Ken did it again!! For those who had access to MTv may aggre with
me!! Ken sung his previous hits numbers with a touch of "New York" style.
Almost half of the audience are japanese origin, and half of them are familiar
with songs that ken sung in the show. Some of the songs :

The participating band
including ken's best friend, pianist Masaru Suzuki. Nivea, a RnB singer also guest
starring to sing duet with ken on Stevie Wonder's number "You are the sunshine
of my life", they sung beautifully. Ken perforn for about 45 minutes, ended
the show with Love love love, featuring a choir named Janu (Japan New York he
said, haha!). You might want to hear his english accent!

Ken
is recording "You Are The Sunshine of My Life" for Stevie Wonder Tribute
Album while he was still in New York. The album has yet to be released, and it's
featuring artists and singer from countries to sing Stevie Wonder's number. Ken
sung this song in his MTv Unplugged performance duet with Nivea. | |
