In a last ditch (no pun intended) effort to break into the
top five, Chuck “Snap-Daddy” Wolf and Travis “I got Rhythm” Rhoads
made their way to the mighty Dog again today. It was an unusually warm and pleasant day
for Nov 22nd. Although they didn’t break into the lineup, the word is that they had a
great time. Eight Ghosts were boated on what seems to be our last day before next
Thursday’s cut-off date.
Where was the Ol Captain?
The Ol Captain spent some quality time with my seven year old
Grandson, Jacob. We participated in a free throw shooting contest at Mount Tabor Gym in
Paulding County. Not only did we participate but we won Jacob’s age division by
making 12 of 25 FT’s in less than 3 minutes! Our efforts were rewarded with a 12
pound frozen Turkey! Don’t be alarmed! The 12 pounder is not eligible for our Carp
Tourney! So with these thoughts in mind it seems that…………
The Stage is Set!
The stage is set for the 1st annual Golden Ghosts awards
night! We now have over 35 commitments! We are looking forward to the meal. We can’t
wait to see Joe Weider’s power point presentation. Captain Vic will have a display
set up and be speaking briefly about fishing in Jacksonville. The night cap will be the
distribution of awards to our top 5 Carpists of the year! There may be a few other awards
including some door prizes so please make your plans now to attend! You won’t want to
miss this special evening!
We are meeting in the fellowship hall at County Line Baptist
Church and will begin at 5:30 pm so we can get out at a decent time. It is vitally
important that everyone bring some food! Thanksgiving leftovers, Krystal Burgers, Pizza,
Chicken, Spam, Vienna Sausage or what have you. Bring it on! If every couple would also
bring a 2 liter drink or some ice tea that would also be helpful.
I have had three goals since the beginning…..
1) To share my faith.
2) To make new friends
3) To share my love for Carpin’
I feel as though we have met and exceeded all expectations
for our first year. Please come and let’s all have a great time!
