The Smartest Man on the Street
One of my favorite professors at Berry once told us not to
let college interfere with our education. Knowledge is a wonderful thing. It
is a powerful thing. We should strive to learn something new each day. Ive also
heard that it is what you learn after you think you know it all that really
counts. Some of us were privileged to go to college. Some of us went to the Red
Brick School or maybe learned from the School of Hard Knocks. Wherever you are in life or
whatever you do you should to continue to expand your horizons.
My goal today was to learn more about my guest. I often refer
to this fellow as the smartest man on our street. There are two reasons for
this handle. The first reason is this man is a friend, mentor and has a lot of knowledge
about stuff that Im unfamiliar with. The second reason is that we live on a
reasonably short street. My guest today was Lewis Kilby Sr. Lewis is the proud father of
four boys. He is a retired pilot. In his 34 year career he flew the world over with the
DOT and the U.S. Air Force. He was flying planes solo long before his 20th birthday. He
has been a surveyor, photographer and a newspaperman. He is one of the most interesting
guys I know.
There seems to be a thread of similarity that runs through
most all of my guests. Even if they have traveled the world over they still want to see
their name on the DRCFA Marquee! Being Carp King is so special. It is truly contagious!
Did Lewis make the board today? I thought youd never ask
The Muddy Dog
After last nights rain the Dog was up and muddy.
Although we didnt place today we didnt get skunked either. Final results-Lewis
caught three Carp and I caught two. I am attaching a picture of the smartest man on the
street with his catch of the day! You just cant beat education!
