The First Annual Carp-Pull-Tunnel Symposium has caused quite a stir in the Deep South. The interest in Carpomania 2003 is growing by leaps and bounds! Many would say that those who have already made their reservation for Buckner’s were drawn by the food but I know better. This Carp thang is no respecter of persons. All walks of life will be represented at our kick-off dinner in March! I am enclosing a list of those who have already committed to this festive occasion. If you have not, your lips have obviously have not encountered a Buckner’s pulley bone.

Our guests so far include:

Tom Kilgore- Former State Representative and Carp Fisherman in training. We are expecting big things from Tom this year. Tom will have a distinct advantage because of his pipe. Even if he can’t fish, he will at least look the part.

Phil Partridge- Retired Teacher and Coach. Phil is no pilgrim when it comes to fishing. However, he has yet to prove himself aboard the ALVA D.

Gene Sparks- Retired Atlanta Fireman will be returning this year. Gene received the “ Most Assists” Award for 2002. If it can be fixed Gene can fix it. If it can be caught, Gene can catch it.

Charlie Goff- Self made Thousandaire, Mentor and dear friend. Charlie was the recipient of last year’s ALVA D AWARD.

Roger Bentley- Cement Magnate representing LaFarge (formerly Blue Circle). Roger won the MOST IMPROVED AWARD last year.

Billy Turner- Winner of last year’s Discovery Award and owner of Waymaker Printing in downtown Lithia Springs.

Charles Turner- Last year’s Captain’s Award winner. Charles sells printing and holds the current record for most miles put on a Subaru (well over 200,000 ). My “adopted” son will once again be representing the Mitchell Reel company.

Ken Higginbotham- Newcomer to the group and Webmaster of our site (www.douglascountyga.com) Has shown promise in the pre-season but still needs to prove himself in a game situation.

Greg Nunnelly- Uncle Ben Memorial Award for 2002. Probably the best Outdoorsman of the lot. Alabama born and bred.

Me- It is so hard to be humble at a time like this J

Please make your reservations as soon as possible. Buckner's will never be the same.
