Don’t SETTLE for less

Many players are just happy to be on the team. They model their uniforms at the Pep Rallies to get attention from the cheerleaders and other chicks. They don’t care if they sit the bench. Playing is not that important to them. But (change of direction) there is a competitive breed of player who will not be denied that opportunity to do his very best every time he has a chance! That, my friends, is the stuff that today’s guest is made of! My guest today was Chris “Don’t SETTLE for Less” Settle. Chris made his ALVA D debut on June 10th where he quickly bagged a 4 pounder which placed him high on the board. Others have come and gone. They have tried to make a comeback but have fallen short of the mark! Not my boy Chris! This guy is for real baby! What happened today? I thought you’d never ask!

The mighty Dog was a floating flotilla of fun today. The DRCFA was well represented with three different and certainly distinct boats. Boat #1 was the WILLIAM G. This boat was manned by Captain Chuck Wolf and his 1st mate Anthony “Why aren’t we Bass fishing?” Griffith. Boat #2 was a fine rented craft containing Captain Charlie “This is more fun than Wellstar” Goff and new DRCFA member, Keith Jacobs. Finally in the sleek ALVA D we find the Ol’ Captain and “Don’t Settle for Less” Settle.

Chuck and Anthony seemed to laugh more than they fished today. To be honest, it was hard for the Ol’ Captain to concentrate. It was especially hard when the WILLIAM G anchored practically alongside us in an effort to root us out of our honey hole. I think they finally somehow managed a few fish.

Captain Charlie and Keith wound up with 5 Carp and had a great time. They were gentlemen through and through. They hardly made a sound (unlike the other guys).

What happened to Chris? This should be His story! Chris is a machine. He comes aboard and simply does what he has to do. Chris landed a personal best of 6 lbs, 5 ozs to tie for 2nd place.

Side Note

The DRCFA wonders….what has happened to those Turner boys? The rumor is they are preparing a boat but are undecided on a name. Will it be the “SUSIE T” or the “WANNA B”? Only the Shadow knows for sure.

I am attaching pictures of Chuck & Anthony, Keith & Charlie, and my Carp catching friend and machine, Chris Settle.

Special Invitation

I mentioned earlier in the week that I will be preaching the morning sermon tomorrow at CLBC. The service starts at 10:30 am. Please keep me in your prayers.
