The
LaFavor Chronicles

Long live the King!

A championship race horse is usually the product of proper bloodline and breeding. They are bred for speed, stamina and determination. Excellence doesn’t just happen. Some are just born to it. Today was a prime example. Three LaFavors boldly boarded the ALVA D this cloudy Monday morning. Alva D LaFavor Jr, The Ol’ Captain and Cody LaFavor (great grandson of the late great Alva D himself).Years of bottom fishing experience. Generations of blue bottom bumping blood contained in this one small aluminum craft. There hasn’t been this much royalty in one boat since the Queen mother made her maiden voyage. You could feel the energy. It was inevitable that something special was going to happen today. By now you are on your seats edge. What happened on this historic day? I thought you’d never ask……..

Sweet 16 and never been Carped

Alva D Jr is my big brother. Cody is his grandson and my great nephew. Today was Cody’s 16th birthday. Cody is no pilgrim. He has fished with my brother Danny since he was 3-4 years old. He has caught sharks, kings, stripers and many other species that grown men only dream about catching. There was only one obstacle left. Today on his 16th birthday, Cody LaFavor became the 4th Carp King of the Year by boating a whopping 7 lb, 10 ounce Golden Ghost! My daddy, Alva Daniel LaFavor, would have been so proud.

I am attaching four pictures. Two of Cody with his catch, one of my wonderful big brother Alva D Jr with Cody and finally one of Craig Brown graciously passing the revolving trophy to Cody. Long live the King!
