New Year's Day in Scotland

Beautiful and wonderful, I am talking about girls. Well, of course the landscapes and historical construction we can see around the Edinburgh city filled with snows are absolutely marvelous. In this beautiful city, I have experienced my lonely new years day for the first time. It was cold outside, but I have been enchanted by lots of attractive scenes in front of myself, thinking that this world is like a scene in the old literature.

It was getting darker and darker at 5 o'clock on 31st of December. I climbed up the hill, which is adjacent to the city-center looking down its wonderful sceneries. The main street was filled with noises of events celebrating for the last moment of the year 2000. The sounds of street lives, funny talk shows, traditional music shows could be all seen by the hill. At 7 o'clock, around the time that the biggest clock in the city-center has been lit, it snowed again and got colder gradually. Everybody gathered at the same place and was enjoying the shows.

People were international. I have seen lots of tourists who have come from all over the world. As is known to everybody, Edinburgh is one of the most famous places to spend the New Year's moment in the world.

At 10 o'clock, nearly time to heat up the event for the New Year; I was trying to get into the city center. However the local police were controlling the access claiming that we need a pass to enter. I was at a loss, trying to find the pass.

But I finally got the ticket. One weird drunk Chinese person had come closer to me and said, "Do you want a ticket? hehehec" I answered, "Yes! Can you sell one to me?" He answered, "Sure, my friend have gone back already. So, I can sell this to you, now", showing the ticket with his hand. He offered me 15 pounds ticket. And I paid for it. I was wondering how much the proper price of the ticket, but later I have found out that 15 pound was the proper price. He was a nice guy, eventually.

At 11:30, while I was waiting in the main street, one drunken young Scottish guy spoke to me. And we had a chat and got together. His name was Klaus, as far as I remember properly, because I had a little bit of trouble understanding Scottish accents of English. He and his two friends and me are waiting at the moment of New Year, having wild chat of guys and making fuss, laughing at loud. I was not lonely at all. I got very funky friends together to cross over the year. And the year 2000 was coming to be a state of candle fire before a wind blow.

Happy New Year!!!

Fireworks had spread out the sky, with various colours of flash have painted the castle free. Everybody shouted out!! My Scottish friends, surrounding strangers, including me were jumping out, shouting out until it leads to a total mess. I shook hands with lots of strangers and greet with words, "Happy New Year!" Lots of guys and girls were kissing each other, which is a New Year's greeting in Scotland. Klaus was kissing too much. I have seen him kissing deeply with at least eight girls that day. I have seen a wonderful moment.

After the celebration, we have moved to a pub. The pub owner was charging three pounds as an entrance fee. But Klaus was a friend of the owner and I could enter the pub for free. Klaus got out of the pub leaving a message to me to come back soon. It was the last moment to see him. In fact, I have been waiting in the pub for about three hours, but he never came back.

Instead, I have spent a wonderful moment in the pub. It was a secret but I had kissed with three girls in the pub for a greeting. They were very beautiful that I wanted to bring some back with me. The atmosphere was not so healthy. I have seen a complete drunken lady making two minute kiss with various people. Well, I kissed with her, but that was short. You have to believe me. It was a very nice moment for me to forget the tragic relationship with the girlfriend I was going out with at that time.

One embarrassing event has happened. I danced with an old lady, who looks like a married girl with his husband sitting next to her. But the old guy, whom I thought he was her husband, was actually her brother held my hands and attach to the old lady's hands. The old guy said to me, "She is alone. You are alone. You, two, can spend a wonderful night together." And she smiled. I had a doubt in his words or my ears. "What!?" I thought I have to deviate her heart outside. But I did not want to hurt her. So, I answered "We can have fun for this wonderful day." I had a chat for a while with that lady, showing smiles. But she seemed kind of understood my heart is not in her heart.

I had greeted with beautiful ladies, wild guys and the old girl I feel sorry for and got out of the pub at around 3 o'clock in the morning. I had no sleep, with bunch of drunk. No need to say that I was very tired.
