Welcome to Walts Watch repair
1. Focus: I have decided on building a watch repair site for those that collect and need service on watches. This website will focus on care and maintenance of a watch such as battery replacement, Polishing and general repairs.
2. Purpose: The purpose of the website is to highlight how a repair and maintenance of a timepiece can affect the look and style of watch. With proper care of a watch it can last generations depending on quality of movement. That way visitors and customers can extract the most value out of a timepiece.
3. Desired Results: The desired outcome after visiting the website will be to purchase a service or product. To contact or set up service for a timepiece or for purchasing items to maintain the timepiece.
4. Target Audience: The target audience will be upscale males between the age of 30 plus. Usually business professionals or those that males that want to be stylish. The location would be North America as this is a style product it may be target or focus more on urban or city areas. With my “uncle” having a physical store location as well it could be focused local as well. The expected visitors per month is about one thousand unique visitors a month.
1. The general layout of the page design will have a main landing page that will have a stylish banner on top of the page. There will be a main body describing the business what is has done and the importance of maintain a time piece. After the main introduction page will provide two links for more information depending on what style of watch either automatic/ manual wind or battery quartz movement. Each page will shoe examples of each movement and break off to what is recommended for servicing each watch. On each page the banner will stay the same and have a link to an about us page with contact information. I will also use center of the page alignment as well and the idea is to have a simple yet elegant page overview.
2. The color choices I have made will be black background. I believe that this will allow the colors of the pictures of the watches such as silver and gold will be brought to life. I will also use Gold and white lettering. The contrasting colors should add a level of elegance to the page. All subsequent pages will also have a black background. The highlighted colors of gold and yellow as borders as well will provides additional contrast.
3. For typography choices on the main landing page I will use freestyle script on the main landing page. Once again the attempt to make the landing page as elegant as possible. I will use newtimes roman on portions of the website where I get into details on how to service and what is required for each watch. Each header and watch description will also be in freestyle script.
The design of this webpage initially was difficult in trying to get everything to flow and work correctly. The largest struggle was getting everything uploaded. Everything in my sandbox while it worked correctly after uploading and realizing most of my links and everything point to the wrong location. If I had more time I would have liked to integrate more multimedia into the webpage and have maybe incorporate some automation in regards to emails and scheduling.

The elegance of time pieces and complex movements and complications making some of these fine time pieces are now becoming generational with parents handing them down to their children.
