Aeran
Aeran sat on the steps that lead up to the servants quarters on the day of Dorian's wedding. She put her head in her hands and sighed. Why did it have to be like this? Why couldn't she and Dorian be together? Dorian certainly didn't seem to mind being married off... Maybe he didn't feel the same way about her... But that was preposterous! Everyone loved Aeran...Footsteps sounded in front of her and Aeran looked up to see a young half-wolf dressed in brown leather over green. She tilted her head to one side and looked down at Aeran, "What's wrong... Aeran, isn't it?"
Aeran stood, "Ye-es... And you are?"
The girl laughed as a little silver dragon-like creature landed on her shoulder, "I'm Deira, this is K'kelan and this," Deira gestured behind her, "Is Nenachcth."
"D-Deira!?"
She smiled softly, "Yes, I'm Deira-"
"Oh it's awful Deira! The love of my life is getting married today. Against his will!" Aeran sniffed, "Please, Deira, you have to help me!"
Deira raised an eyebrow, looked back at Nenachcth, then turned back to Aeran. "Alright Aeran, I'll help you. In return, Nen' wants you to stand at Vella Crean."
"Like, for a dragon? Like you?"
Deira smiled softly again, "Yes, for a dragon like Nen'."
"And... what about Dorian?"
"He can go with you. We'll see if he'll stand when Nen' meets him."
"Okay," Aeran whispered.
"Do you need to get anything?" Deira asked.
Aeran shook her head, "Let's go get Dorian."
Dorian
Dorian stood at the alter, watching his wife-to-be walk up the aisle, a feeling of dread settling over him. Well, at least his father would be happy...A green dragon appeared suddenly in the sky, causing many of the guests to scream and hide under her chairs. The dragon landed in the isle and snorted at the cowering guests.
A half-wolf slid off the back of the dragon and walked up to Dorian, "Are you Dorian?"
Dorian nodded, swallowed heavily and croaked out, "Yes."
The woman looked over her shoulder at the dragon, "What do you think, Nen'?"
The dragon lumbered up behind the woman and Dorian was surprised to see Aeran sitting on it's back. The dragon stuck its nose into Dorian's chest and then turned to the woman. She nodded and said to Dorian, "You've just been searched by Capio Deira and Green Nenachcth. You'll be going to the Vella Crean to stand and potentially bond a dragon. If you'll just get on Nen'..."
"Ah... okay..." Dorian said slowly, seeing his father charging up the aisle towards them.
Deira made a stirrup with her hands and boosted Dorian up behind Aeran, "Up you go." Then she stepped onto her dragon's forearm and heaved herself up in front of Aeran. "Hold on everyone," she said just before Nenachcth heaved herself into the air.
Dorian tightened his grip around Aeran's waist. He wasn't getting married. He was going to have a dragon. He was going with Aeran.
Looking down on his father making a scene below, shaking his fist at the dragon. He was rather afraid of what was going to happen next with his father... He bit his lip just as everything disappeared.
