Apollo 4 (God of Brothers)

Chapter 15

Filo’s Ristorante - Georgetown

February 20th

“I hate Julie,” Scott Denison said, as he flung his order pad on the counter.

“What’s the matter?” his best friend, and fellow waiter, Alain Jones asked.

“We are nearly empty, and she sits the most gorgeous man I have the pleasure to lay eyes on, at Jay’s section. You know Jay, the one and only waiter in this place who is not gay.”

Alain smiled at his friend, and said, “You have a boyfriend, a very good looking boyfriend, if you have forgotten.”

“No, I haven’t forgotten,” Scott said, “But look at that, he is so yummy. Table eight.”

Alain, turned to face the dinning area, and whistled softly as he saw the man sitting at table eight. “You are right, he is delicious. That has to be a two-thousand dollar suit he is wearing.”

“And Prada shoes,” Scott said, “And a Bulgari watch, and a silk, Hermes tie.”

Alain laughed, and said, “For not being in your section, you sure got a good look at him.”

“Hard to miss,” Scott said, smiling at his friend. “Holy shit, two of them.”

“What?” Alain asked, and followed his friends gaze towards the man that had just entered the restaurant. “Oh my, not the same quality of clothing, but the genes are definitely the same.”

They watched as a man who resembled the man already seated in section eight, waved at his look-alike, and made his way towards his table. The seated man stood, and embraced the new arrival warmly, and then both sat down.

“I really hate Julie,” Scott said, and shook his head.

“You are really going despise her,” Alain said.

“What? Why?” Scott said, and it was his turn to follow his friend’s gaze. “There is no God. If there was, I would be taking care of table eight.”

“Three of them, all gorgeous,” Alain said, sighing deeply.

“Will the two of you get back to work,” a voice behind them, suddenly startled them. “Scott, you have table three waiting, and Alain, table eleven wants his check.”

“Yes, Julie,” the responded in unison, and went to their respective tables. Scott, to take care of the five, eighty-year ladies, one of which was celebrating her eighty-eighth, and Alain, to give the check to a man who was almost as wide as he was tall, and was presently wearing most of his meal on his shirt.

The three men at table eight however, were oblivious to the stares, and comments aimed their way.

Lucca, you own an Italian restaurant. Why the hell did you want to eat here, instead than at your place?” Alex, asked his brother.

“Sizing up the competition,” Lucca said, and picked up the menu. “From this, we don’t seem to have much to worry about.”

“You are such a snob,” Gabriel said, but smiled to take the sting out of his words. “Sawyer and I had dinner here a couple of weeks ago. It’s very good.”

“You mean to tell me, that having a brother who owns an Italian restaurant, an excellent one by the way, you and your lover decide to eat here? That is treason of the worst kind. Were we not in a public place, I would call you out, to defend our honor,” Lucca said, sniffing in disdain.

Alex smiled, and said, “Maybe it’s not the fact that it is a public place, but the fact that Gabriel could probably take you, that prevents you from calling him out.”

“You’d be surprised. Under all this fine fabric is a body of pure muscle,” Lucca said, grinning cheekily.

Gabriel laughed, and shook his head as he said, “Well, if your body is as well developed as your ego obviously is, I guess you could take me in a fair fight.”

“Who said anything about fair?” Lucca said his grin widening.

“Okay, okay, enough goofing around,” Alex said, putting his hand up to stop the brotherly bickering. “I have some news.”

“What is it?” Gabriel asked, turning to face him.

“We got a lead on another of our brothers,” Alex said, not hesitating on the word.

“Alive?” Lucca said, as he took a sip of wine.

Alex frowned at the comment, and said, “As far as I know yes. Why would you ask that?”

“Odds. I am a gambler, one of the reasons I live in Monaco. There are six of us that we know of. Odds are that one, or more than one, is no longer alive,” Lucca said, with a shrug.

“Well, as of December twenty-six he was alive,” Alex said, continuing to frown, “And I don’t particularly care for your odds.”

“Hey, enough of this,” Gabriel said, “As much as I hate to say it, Lucca is right, odds are that one of them could be dead or that they don’t want anything to do with us.”

“A very real possibility,” Lucca said, nodding, “You may have to settle for having found two great brothers, and one exceptional one.”

Alex and Gabriel looked at each other for a split second, then in silent agreement, pelted the unsuspecting Lucca with pieces of bread.

“Well, if we go by your odds, the odds are that one of the remaining two will not be an egocentric snob,” Alex said, with a smirk.

“Getting back to our new brother,” Gabriel said, “Where is he?”

Australia,” Alex said, “Fox’s friends, the Lone Gunmen, found him through some internet research.”

“And you are sure, he is one of us?” Lucca asked.

“It’s the first real lead in a long time,” Alex said, “We’ll have to follow it, even if it doesn’t pan out.”

“I wish I could help, but I’m just starting at the clinic, and can’t get away,” Gabriel said, with regret.

“And I would hate to leave Gianni with the restaurant, now that we have signed the contract with the investors to open three more,” Lucca said.

“Congratulations,” Alex said, “That’s great news. And don’t worry, guys, Fox is going to start his book tour there, so I’ll do the legwork.”

“What about Cooper?” Gabriel asked, “Does he know?”

“Yeah, I called him this morning,” Alex said, “He and Chris are getting ready to sell the ranch, and have a lot to do before they can move to Virginia.”

“It’ll be nice having him closer,” Gabriel said, “And now that you and Gianni are going to be working on the restaurants you’ll be around more too.”

“Part of the year at least,” Lucca said, “I still have holdings in Europe, and need to spend time there as well.”

“I’ll keep you updated,” Alex said, “I’m not sure how long it’ll take because we didn’t get a lot of information from the article. I printed copies for each of you with a picture of our missing brother.”

After taking a quick look at the photograph, Lucca said, “There is a very strong resemblance, but at least I still beat the odds.”

“You and your odds,” Alex said, rolling his eyes, “What is it this time?”

“Out of five, I’m still the best looking of the lot,” Lucca said, and grinned widely, then putting up his hands, added, “Don’t throw any more bread at me.”

“Hi,” Fox said, as Alex entered the office. “How are the guys?”

“They are great,” Alex said, flopping onto the couch.

“Did you tell them the news?” Fox asked, as he finished printing a document from his computer.

“Yes,” Alex said, “They were excited about it, but really can’t get away now to look for him. I told them not to worry since we would be going to Australia in a couple of days.”

“Uhm…about that,” Fox said, biting his lip.

Alex, turned his head to look at his lover, and frowned at Fox’s expression, “What? Why are you biting your lip? What’s the matter?”

Fox stood, and walked to the printer, and after pulling out the three sheets he had printed, joined Alex on the couch, “I just got the travel schedule.”

Alex, took the pages from Fox’s hands, and read them quickly, “What? You are not scheduled to go to Australia for four weeks. I thought we were going right away.”

“I’m sorry, Alex,” Fox said, “I tried to get them to change the schedule, but…”

“Damn it, Fox,” Alex said, jumping to his feet, “You are the god dammed fucking author; you should have a say on where you go.”

“Hey, what’s with all the shouting,” Walter asked, as he entered the room drying his hands, “I could hear you all the way down in the kitchen.”

“Alex just found out about the travel schedule for the book tour,” Fox said, looking very forlorn.

“And you found it necessary to scream at Fox?” Walter said, watching his youngest lover pace like a caged tiger, while Fox looked like his heart was breaking.

“Five weeks, Walter, five fucking weeks,” Alex said, waiving the pages in front of Walter’s face, “I can’t wait that long, the trail might get cold.”

”You mean colder than the seven weeks since the article,” Walter said, growing increasingly angry with Alex’s attitude, “It’s not like your brother, if it turns out that he is indeed your brother, knows that you are looking for him and will go into hiding.”

”That’s not the point,” Alex said in a near shout. “Every minute that goes by increases the chance that I will not find him.”

“You need to calm down, Alex,” Walter said, “And you need to apologize to Fox…”

”What? Why? He lied to me. He said that we would go to Australia soon,” Alex said, his green eyes flashing in anger as he turned to look at Fox, “He considers his hobby more important than me.”

“My hobby,” Fox said angrily, as he jumped to his feet, “You…you think that my writing is a hobby?”

“What else would it be?” Alex said, “You don’t need the money; you are a freaking multi-millionaire.”

“Alexei, I’ve had just enough of this,” Walter said, grabbing Alex by the back of his jacket, and pulling him back, “Apologize to Fox right now.”

Alex, twisted out of Walter’s hold, then shouted, “No. I’m out of here.”

“Alex, come back here,” Walter said as Alex all but ran out of the room.

“Let him go, Walter,” Fox said, as he sat down again.

Walter joined him in the couch, and gently ran a hand up and down Fox’s back, “Fox, it’s okay. He just needs to calm down.”

“Yeah, I know,” Fox said, as tears ran down his cheeks, “But…but did you hear what he said.”

“Yes, and it all comes from being upset. He didn’t mean it,” Walter said, putting him arm around Fox’s shoulder and pulling him into a hug. “You know how proud he is of your success.”

“But he was so angry,” Fox said, wiping at his eyes.

“Fox, is there any way you can talk to the publishing company and get them to change the schedule?” Walter asked.

“I thought it was fine as it was,” Fox said, “The tour would end in Australia, so we can just stay there, instead of rushing to the next location. It’ll take about two weeks to set everything up, then we spend two weeks traveling across the country, and end up in L.A., and from there we fly to Australia.”

“It’s a good plan, Fox,” Walter said, “Maybe Alex and I could go to Australia first…”

“But the whole idea was for the two of you to go on tour with me so I wouldn’t be alone, like the last time,” Fox said.

“I know, you are right,” Walter said, “We’ll talk to Alex when he gets back. Once he calms down, I’m sure he’ll understand.”

“I’m not so sure,” Fox said, “He was so angry.”

“Alex has come a long way since he’s been with us,” Walter said, “He’ll realize he’s wrong, and he’ll feel bad about it, and come home.”

“I just hope he comes home, and doesn’t just rush to the airport and catch the next plane to Sydney,” Fox said.

“If he does, we’ll just follow him, bring him back, tan his ass, and then start the tour,” Walter said, “Come on, let’s go downstairs and you can help me put the groceries away.”

“Okay,” Fox said, “I’ll call the publishing company later, and see if there is any cities we can cut from the tour, or move things around.”

The two men left the office, and headed downstairs.

TGI Friday’s Restaurant

“Alex?”

Alex looked up from his drink, and his eyes widened in surprise, “Ursula? Yvonne? What…what are you doing here?”

“We are doing some last minute shopping for Neely’s adoption party,” Ursula said, “What are you doing here, of all places?”

Alex looked at the two ladies, friends, almost sisters, of his neighbor Eve Kirkpatrick, and debated telling them what had happened. He had gotten to know them back in January when he had been afflicted with the chicken pox and they had been visiting Eve and her six year old foster son, Neal.

“I got into a fight with Walter, and Fox,” Alex said, feeling the need to talk to someone, “I got in the car, and drove for a while, and suddenly I was here at the mall.”

“Can we sit down?” Yvonne asked.

“Oh, sorry, of course,” Alex said, pointing to the other side of the booth.

The two women took a seat, placing their packages on an empty chair at the end of the table.

“What was the fight about?” Ursula asked, in her straightforward manner.

“Urs, maybe he doesn’t want to talk about it,” Yvonne said, slapping her friend’s arm slightly, and then turning to Alex, added, “Unless you want to of course.”

Alex, wasn’t quite sure why he felt so comfortable with the two women that he could open up to them, but they both made him feel safe.

“Well, uhm…you know about my brothers, Cooper, Gabriel and Lucca,” Alex said.

“Of course, or as Ursula and I refer to them as Cuteness, Gorgeous, and Luscious,” Yvonne said with a straight face.

“And how exactly do you think of me?” Alex said, grinning

“You are Adorable,” Ursula said.

“I thought I was supposed to be Lancelot,” Alex countered, still smiling.

“That is your literary persona,” Yvonne said. She and Ursula were world renowned romance novelists, and when they had met Alex and his lovers, had decided to collaborate on a novel about a threesome based on Alex, Walter and Fox. Lancelot was the name they had chosen for Alex, while Walter was Rip, and Fox was Ryder.

“But you were saying,” Ursula said, trying to get the conversation back on track, “About your brothers?”

“Well, it turns out that there is another brother, we didn’t…uhm…know about,” Alex said, lying for the sake of not having to explain the fact that he was a clone.

“Quintuplets?” Yvonne said, “Unbelievable. So what’s the problem?”

“We think we found our fifth brother in Australia,” Alex said, “And I had hoped to go there as soon as possible. Fox is starting his new book tour, and he was supposed to set it up so Australia was his first stop, but now it is going to be almost at the end of the tour, four weeks away.”

The two women looked at each other for a moment, and then Ursula said, “Alex, honey, take it from us, the author is usually the person who has the least amount of say on where they go on these book tours. I’m sure Fox tried his best.”

“Yeah, I know,” Alex said, with a deep sigh.

“So, what’s the problem exactly?” Yvonne asked.

“That I blew up, I mean I was nasty and a…” Alex said, and blushed.

“You were a complete and total brat?” Ursula asked sweetly.

Alex smirked, and said, “Yes, and now…well…I feel like an ass, and…”

“And you are trying to figure out how to apologize?” Yvonne said.

“Yes, and actually also trying up to get the courage to face them like a man,” Alex said, “I screwed up so bad, I mean…I really hurt Fox. I said some terrible things.”

“But nothing he won’t forgive,” Yvonne said, placing her hand over his and patting it slightly.

“I’ve seen the way that boy looks at you,” Ursula said, “He is so deeply in love with you, you are like the air that fills his lungs, and the next beat of his heart.”

“For Pete’s sake, Ursula, you are morphing into your writer mode,” Yvonne said, with a laugh.

“I’m being serious here,” Ursula said, affronted, “You do know he loves you, don’t you? They both do.”

“I know,” Alex said, nodding, “I guess I’m just going to suck it up, and face the music.”

“I’m sure there will be quite a bit of sucking,” Ursula said, and when the other two looked at her, she added, “Up, I mean. There will be a lot of sucking up.”

“Funny, very funny,” Alex said, chuckling, “What did you get Neal?”

“Some clothes,” Ursula began, and when he saw the look on Alex’s face, added, “What?”

“Clothes? For a six year old?” Alex said, with a smirk.

“I was just beginning,” Ursula, “Some clothes, several video games, a train set, and a trip to Disney World for the four of us.”

“Sorry, I doubted you,” Alex said, grinning, “Those are great. When is the adoption official?”

“Monday, but we are having the party on Sunday, so Neal’s school friends can come,” Yvonne said. “I don’t think I’ve ever seen Eve as happy as she is with that little boy.”

“And we have you to thank for it,” Ursula said, “If you hadn’t rescued Neely from that father of his, and Eve had a chance to foster him, they wouldn’t have come together.”

Alex blushed, and said, “It was the right thing to do. Neal needed someone good in his life, and Eve fit the bill perfectly, she is a wonderful woman.”

“No argument there,” Ursula said, and then looked at her watch, “Oh, look at the time. We promised Neal we would be home by six, and it’s almost that.”

”What!” Alex asked, as he too looked as his watch. “Damn, I didn’t realize I’ve been here almost three hours. The guys are going to kill me.”

“Stop worrying, I’m sure it won’t be that bad,” Yvonne said, “Are you alright to drive home?”

“What?” Alex asked, and noticing how both women were looking at the drink in his hand, added, “Oh, this is just coke. This is a family restaurant, no hard liquor, just beer and some fruity drinks.”

“I still can’t believe you ended up here,” Ursula said, with a laugh, “Always picture you more as  a dark jazz club type guy.”

“I’ve done those,” Alex admitted, “I’m becoming domesticated I guess.”

“And from the look on your face it’s not a bad thing,” Ursula said, with a knowing smile.

“No, not a bad thing at all,” Alex said, “I really want to thank you for listening to me. It’s helped a lot.”

“I’m glad,” Ursula said, patting his hand. “Are you, Walter and Fox going to be able to stop by on Sunday?”

“I don’t see why not,” Alex said.

“Unless you are grounded, right?” Yvonne said, sucking in her lips to stop from laughing.

Alex scrunched up his nose at her, and after a split second of indecision followed it with sticking out his tongue, which made both women laugh.

“Very mature,” Ursula said, shaking her head.

“Never claimed to be,” Alex said, sliding out of the booth, and standing up to give each woman a heartfelt hug. “Thanks again…both of you.”

“You are welcome, sweetie,” Yvonne said, kissing him on the cheek, which Ursula did as well  when it was her turn to hug him.

The women had a couple of more things to pick up at the mall, so they parted company outside of the restaurant.

***

Fifteen minutes later Alex pulled into the driveway of the house, and headed for the front door. His hand hesitated as he was about to insert the key in the lock, but then he took a deep breath, and opened the door.

It still amazed him how good it felt to come into this house that had, over time become his homes, something he had seriously doubted he would ever have. He had put that in jeopardy with his actions, and he was going to do everything possible to remedy that lapse in good sense.

The house was warm, Fox must have lit the fireplace he thought with a smile, and the smells emanating from the kitchen told him Walter had started dinner. Alex took another deep breath, and his eyes widened. Walter was making Veal Stroganoff, he was sure of it. They were making his comfort food, and his heart again constricted with regret at his earlier outburst.

Alex walked slowly towards the kitchen, and stood quietly watching his two lovers from the shadow of the doorway. He smiled at Fox, who was dressed in his comfortable sweats, the ones that were so well loved they were starting to look thin in several places. Over the sweatpants he wore one of Walter’s old tees that came to about mid-thigh. Walter on the other hand was wearing ass-hugging, faded to almost white, cut-offs, not your typical winter clothing, but the house was warm enough that you could not feel the twenty degree temperature outside. He wore a simple, dark-blue tee, which he had covered with the ‘Kiss the Cook’ apron he often wore when it was his turn to cook.

Fox was setting the table, while Walter stirred something on the stove top.

Alex felt he was eavesdropping, but couldn’t pull himself away.  He leaned in closer to try to catch what they were saying, and was not surprised they were talking about him.

“Do you think he is alright, Walter?” Fox asked as he headed for the refrigerator to pull out the salad fixings.

“He just needed a little time to calm down,” Walter said, turning slightly from the stove, and leaned to his side to accept the kiss that Fox was puckering up to deliver.

“You don’t think he would do something stupid, do you? Like catch a plane to Australia, or something?” Fox asked.

“No. Alex doesn’t run away anymore,” Walter said with conviction, “He’s learned that lesson.”

“How can you be so sure?” Fox asked, “He was very upset.”

“I’m sure because Alex has changed, and it is all a positive change,” Walter said, “He’s figured out that no matter how much he disagrees with one or both of us, we are not going to kick him out. He ran away before as a preemptive measure. Hurt us before he hurt him. He doesn’t have to do that anymore.”

“I hope you are right,” Fox said.

“Trust me, grasshopper,” Walter said, as he lowered the heat on the stove, “Right, Alex?”

Walter smiled at the little gasp he heard coming from the doorway a second before a very sheepish Krycek entered the kitchen.

“How long have you known I was there?” Alex asked.

“Since you opened the door,” Walter said, smugly.

Fox, who had been looking at Alex, whipped his head around to stare at Walter, “You did? How?”

“I can always tell when one of you is nearby,” Walter said, with a shrug of his wide shoulders, “Not sure how, just do.”

“It’s an X-File,” Fox said, with a grin. Turning back to Alex, he added, “You okay, Lexi?”

Alex nodded, and said, “Yeah. I’m fine. Like Walter said, just needed to get away for a little while.”

“Where’d you go?” Fox asked, as he set the things in his hands, on the table.

“TGI Friday’s,” Alex said, ducking his head, and blushing at the chuckle from Walter.

“Fridays?” Fox said with a wide grin, “Ooooh, how did you ever survive?”

“Funny,” Alex said, smirking. “Uhm…about what happened…”

“That can wait until later,” Walter said, “We’ll have dinner first…I made…”

”Stroganoff,” Alex said, “It smells delicious. You didn’t have to, I don’t deserve it.”

“Later,” Walter said again, “Go upstairs, and get washed up.”

Alex nodded again, and left the kitchen.

“He sure has changed,” Fox said turning to Walter, “About the discussion…uhm…what are you going to do?”

“Me? Nothing. You are the one that he hurt the most. It’s your call,” Walter said, knowing that Fox didn’t like to take on the role of disciplinarian.

Fox, thought about it for a moment, and then said, “You are right.”

“Good boy. I know you can do it,” Walter said, giving him a hug.

“Know he can do what?” Alex asked, as he came back in.

“That was fast,” Walter said, putting out his arm so that Alex could join in the hug.

Alex gladly moved into the embrace, and said, “I love you guys so much. I’m sorry.”

Walter kissed the top of his head, and said, “We know…that’s why you are getting dish duty tonight.”

“Is that my punishment,” Alex said, grinning.

“Part of it,” Fox said, “We’ll discuss the rest, after we enjoy Walter’s cooking. He really went all out.”

“I can tell,” Alex said, looking at the stove, “Anything I can do?”

“Finish up the salad while Fox and I go up and get cleaned up,” Walter said. “We are having ice cream for dessert, so we don’t need to do anything for that.”

“Okay,” Alex said, and moved to the sink to finish up the salad, as his lovers left the room.

***

Forty minutes later, Alex was doing the dishes, Fox had gone upstairs, and Walter had dog walking duties.

The only good thing about walking Murphy in the winter was the he got as cold as his masters did, and often did his business, and rushed to get back to the warmth of the house.

Walter was gone only about ten minutes, and when he returned he secured the downstairs doors and windows, and then headed for the kitchen to see how Alex was faring. He was almost to the kitchen when he heard was sounded like sniffling. Walter walked slowly towards the kitchen and watched Alex for a few minutes.

The younger man had his back to him, and seemed to be scrubbing the pots before putting them in the dishwashers. What surprised Walter was that every few seconds Alex would sniff, and shake his head, as he muttered to himself.

When Walter overheard the word ‘stupid’ he decided to intervene.

“Alex, you okay?” he asked as he crossed the room to stand behind his lover.

“What!” Alex said, startled by Walter sudden presence behind him. “Oh, yeah…I’m fine.”

“You don’t look it,” Walter said, moving around him, and leaning against the counter. “Are you crying? Nothing has happened yet.”

“No, and I’m not crying…well I am crying, but not about getting punished,” Alex said, sniffling again, “I deserve it. More than deserve it, actually.”

“So what is it?” Walter asked, “Why are you so upset?”

“I just don’t learn, do I?” Alex said, turning to face him.

“What do you mean?” Walter asked, frowning.

“You guys take me in, you give me a home, a family, you love me, and make love to me, and…and…and this is how I repay your kindness? I insult Fox, I yell at you, I’m a worthless piece of…FUCK! What you do that for?” Alex yelped in mid-rant, as he found himself half bent over the sink, while Walter landed four, very hard, spanks to his bottom.

“Did you just listen to any of the crap that just came out of your mouth,” Walter said, his eyes blazing with anger, but when he saw that Alex didn’t realize what he was talking about, he softened a little. “Alexei, after all this time, after all the time we’ve been together, I can’t believe Fox and I took you in out of kindness. Do you honestly believe that?”

Noting the angry look in his lover’s face, Alex swallowed visibly, and said, “Walter, I know…I mean, I know that is not…”

“Then why did you say it,” Walter said, “Do you think so little of Fox and me, that you’d think we only brought you into this home, because we felt…what?...sorry for you.”

Tears sprang to Alex’s eyes, and he tried, unsuccessfully, to stifle a sob, “I’m sorry, I can’t seem to say anything right…lately. I’m really sorry, Walter, please believe me.”

Walter pulled him into his arms, and hugged him tightly, kissing the side of his head, “I know you are. Alex, how are we going to make you believe that you are not here under sufferance? We love you, plain and simple…no hidden agendas, no guilt, nothing but love. Got it?”

Alex nodded against Walter’s chest, “Yeah, I got it.”

Patting Alex’s butt, Walter said, “Good, ‘cause I don’t have any problem reminding you.”

Pushing back so that he could look into Walter’s face, and when he saw he was serious, Alex said, “I get it Walter. Honest, I do.”

“Okay,” Walter said, looking into the earnest green eyes, “I know this is going to be tough for you, but you do deserve it. Fox is waiting for you.”

“Walter, I know I deserve it, anything he does will not be enough, but I do know I deserve it because I hurt the man I love, not because I feel I owe Fox…or you, anything.”

“I’m glad, Alex,” Walter said kissing him on the cheek, “Now, go on, I’ll be up when it’s over, and maybe do some pampering afterwards.”

Alex nodded, and started to turn away when Walter grabbed his arm, and spun him around so they were face to face again. Before Alex could ask anything, Walter plundered his mouth with a soul shattering kiss. Alex’s knees turned to jelly and Walter had to literally hold him up, or he would have slid to the floor.

After a full minute, Walter broke the kiss, and smiled at the dazed look on Alex’s face.

“You okay?” Walter said after Alex continued to stare at him with a silly grin on his face.

“Uh hu,” Alex said with a nod, “Wha…what was that for?”

“Just a kindness,” Walter said with a smirk, “Something for you to keep your mind on for after you talk with Fox.”

“I think talking will be the last thing we are going to do,” Alex said, “But I’ve kept him waiting long enough. I better go.”

“Okay,” Walter said, and watched him leave. Turning around he looked at the sink, and said, “Oh great, I guess I get to finish the dishes.”

“Fox,” Alex said, as he walked into their bedroom.

Fox came out of the bathroom at the sound of his name, and smiled at Alex, “What took you so long…hey, why are your eyes all red? You’ve been crying?”

“It’s okay, it’s nothing, I was just feeling confused, but Walter straightened me out,” Alex said, shrugging sheepishly.

“I bet he did,” Fox said, as he walked up to him and ran his thumb gently over Alex’s kiss swollen lips.

Alex leaned into the caress, and smiled, “Just something to look forward to when you and I are done here.”

Fox stepped away, and said, “About that…I’ve been thinking…”

“Oh no, no way you are getting out of this, you have to do it,” Alex said.

Fox turned back, and said, “You didn’t let me finish. I was thinking that this was pretty serious. I mean, not only did you have a tantrum, but you were abusive towards me.”

Alex ducked his head, and said, “Oh, I thought you were going to back out. You don’t like disciplining us.”

“Well, tonight I’m making an exception,” Fox said, and went to sit on the bed.

“Lucky me,” Alex said, but smiled sheepishly as he walked to stand in front of his lover. “Can I say something before…before you pass sentence?”

“Sure,” Fox said, and patted a spot next to him on the bed.

“I want you to know, before…uhm…before you ask me…you know…when you are going to spank me, you are going to ask why I am getting spanked,” Alex said haltingly.

“I know the routine,” Fox said, with a smile.

“I’ll tell you, but first I want to tell you how sorry I am, I don’t want to tell you afterwards, when I am all snotty and sobbing. I want you to know before all that, so you’ll understand my apology has nothing to do with the punishment. I am so sorry…I didn’t mean any of those things I said…I was angry, and…”

Fox put one finger to Alex’s lips, and said, “I know.”

“I just wanted to make sure,” Alex said, “So…what’s my punishment.”

“A spanking, for the tantrum,” Fox said, “Then tomorrow you get to do all the chores, and in the afternoon…”

“An all day punishment,” Alex said, scrunching up his nose; at Fox’s raised eyebrow, he quickly added, “Sorry…go on.”

“In the afternoon you can start on your writing assignment,” Fox said, and had to bite his lip at the look of horror that crossed Alex’s handsome face. Fox knew that Alex hated, with a passion, writing assignments as punishment. “I think that a short, let’s say three thousand word…”

“Three thousand!” Alex squeaked, “That’ll take all afternoon.”

“Probably,” Fox said, “Did you have plans?”

“No,” Alex said, with a deep sigh, “It’s the least I deserve.”

“Glad you see it my way,” Fox said, and patted his lap, “Let’s get this over with. I’m sure Walter wants to get to bed.”

Alex stood, and began to lower his jeans, “Yes, let us not keep him waiting…OW!” he quickly added as Fox slapped him in the thigh.

“Being a smart ass is not the best strategy at this time,” Fox said, frowning up at him.

“Sorry,” Alex said, and stepped out of his jeans, and then leaned over Fox’s lap. Practice had him soon arranged comfortably, and his ass cheeks tightened with anticipation as Fox lowered his underwear, baring his butt.

“I see that Walter already had a discussion with your backside,” Fox said, noting the slightly pink backside over his lap.

“Yeah,” Alex said, “He didn’t like something I said. Nothing to do with what I said to you though.”

“You ready?” Fox asked, as he wrapped his left hand around Alex’s waist, and held him in place, while raising his right hand to begin the spanking.

“Yes,” Alex said, and buried his face in his arm.

“What’s this punishment for?” Fox asked.

“Because I threw a temper tantrum,” Alex said, lifting his head enough to be heard clearly.

“Okay, we don’t have to go into further than that,” Fox said, as he brought his hand down on Alex’s butt. Fox didn’t really want to punish Alex, but knew his lover would not feel forgiven if he didn’t go through with it, and if he was honest with himself, Fox would also feel better after the punishment.

Fox rained spanks on Alex’s bottom, turning from light pink to a progressively darker shade of red. Throughout the punishment Alex went from groaning in discomfort, to trying to stifle his sobs, to open crying as the spanks began to land on previously spanked flesh.

Fox closed his eyes as Alex began to cry in earnest, but wanted to carry the punishment to the end. He hadn’t preset a specific number of spanks, or a time limit, but he felt he would know when to stop.

“I…sob…I’m sorry, I’m so…sorry,” Alex cried.

Fox felt the time had come, and brought his hand down for one last time, noting that Alex’s backside was a furious shade of red. “Shssss, it’s okay…shsss…” he soothed as Alex continued to sob into the bedspread.

Alex was lost in a world of pain, and it took him a full five minutes to realize the spanking was over, and that Fox was rubbing his back trying to calm him down.

“You okay?” Fox asked when he heard Alex’s sobs change in intensity.

“Yeah,” Alex said, swallowing hard, and slowly pushing away from the bed.

With Fox’s help, Alex was quickly rearranged over Fox’s lap, his bottom clear of any pressure. Fox hugged him, and rocked slowly, trying to calm him.

“You okay now?” Fox asked after a few more minutes.

Alex took a deep breath, and nodded, “Yes…I’m sorry.”

“That’s okay, relax, you are okay,” Fox said, kissing the top of his head, as it lay against his shoulder. After a few more minutes, he said, “Alex, honey, uhm…hate to disturb you, but you are getting a bit heavy…”

“You calling me fat, Fox?” Alex said, as he snuggled into Fox’s embrace.

“No, not at all, but…” Fox said, shifting slightly, “But I think we would be more comfortable if we lie down on the bed.

Alex came to his feet slowly, grunting as the movement pulled on his sore muscles.

When Fox settled on the bed, he put out his arm, and waited until Alex slowly settled next to him. “You comfortable?”

“Comfort is a relative term at the moment,” Alex said, grunting again, as he snuggled next to Fox, “But there are worse places to recover.”

“I’d say,” Fox said, kissing the top of Alex’s head.

There was a soft knock, and then the door opened and Walter stuck his head in, “Safe to come in?”

“Yes, I have beaten him to within an inch of his life, and now we are snuggling,” Fox said, smiling at Walter.

“I see that,” Walter said, returning the smile, and walking up to the bed. Alex’s bottom was in full view, and Walter gave a low whistle, as he put his hand on it. He could still feel the heat radiating from the reddened flesh. “At least we’ll have a nightlight if we need to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night.”

Alex turned slightly on his side, so he could see Walter better, and said, “Very funny.”

Walter chuckled, and leaned in to kiss the pouting lips, “Poor baby.”

“Hey, what about me? Don’t I get something too?” Fox said, sticking out his lower lip.

“Of course you do,” Walter said, and as he kissed Fox, smiled when he felt Alex’s hand slide under his t-shirt. Breaking the kiss, he looked down, and grinned at the look on Alex’s face. “I can’t believe you want to play, not after…”

“I’m sore, not dead,” Alex said, his eyes sparkling with mischief, “But…but maybe I could watch,” he adds, sliding his eyes from Walter to Fox.

“I thought I was the voyeur in this relationship,” Fox said.

“Does that mean I can’t watch?” Alex said, pouting once again, but this time adding the ever-effective batting of the eyelashes.

Fox and Walter looked at each other, and rolled their eyes in unison.

“You are such a brat, Alexei,” Walter said, leaning down and kissing the younger man on the nose, “Okay, we’ll put on a show for you.”

“Hey, you don’t have to make it sound like it is such a chore,” Fox said, furrowing his brow. “You don’t have to…aaaah.”

Fox’s complaint was cut off by Walter, as the older man jumped over Alex and straddled him.

“I don’t have to do anything,” Walter said, stressing the word ‘have’, “But I want to. If that is alright with you, Mr. Pouty?”

“Mr. Pouty, that’s funny,” Alex giggled. He had scooted over to the side of the bed that Walter usually occupied, and now laid on his side, looking at his two lovers.

Fox turned his head, and looked at Alex, and then smiled, “We haven’t called each other nicknames in a long time. Remember Snickerdoodle?”

Walter was busy unbuttoning the snaps on his short, and sliding them off, but still managed to answer, “Yeah, I remember and I also remember Banshee, and several other names, but how about we stop the trip down memory lane, and…”

“Man, someone is suddenly in a hurry,” Fox said, bucking his hips upwards, so he could slide his sweats off.

“I’m ready, Big Boy,” he added when he had succeeded in getting naked.

“How about a little switch,” Walter said, surprising both his lovers, “You go in.”

”Wha…what? You sure,” Fox said, looking up at him.

“Sure, let’s give the boy a thrill,” Walter said, smirking as he pointed with his chin towards a wide-eyed Alex.

“Woohoo,” Alex said, grinning like a loon. “I should be bad more often if this is the punishment.”

“Let me put it this way, young man,” Walter said, as he and Fox switched places, “You behave like that again, and you will be missing scenes like this, for a while.”

“I’ll be good,” Alex said, “Just get on with it.”

“Pushy aren’t we,” Fox said, as he accepted the tube of lubricant Walter was handing him, “Thanks. Spread your legs a little. That’s good.”

Walter did as he was asked, giving Fox better access. He took a deep breath as his lover’s long, slender fingers pushed into his tight hole. Gripping the sheets on either side of him, he concentrated on his breathing as Fox carefully stretched him.

“You okay there, sweetie,” Fox asked, looking down at him with concern.

“Yeah, it’s just been a while,” Walter said, smiling up reassuringly at him. “I’m okay.”

“Okay,” Fox said, withdrawing his fingers and covering his hand with additional lube, he began to quote his erection. He leaned forward closer to Walter, and helped arranged Walter’s long legs around his waist.

Guiding his erection towards Walter’s entrance, and slowly began to push in, his eyes fixed on Walter’s face, looking for any sign of extreme discomfort. He smiled when he felt Walter’s legs tighten around his waist, pushing him forward.

Fox began to rock his hips, deepening his thrusts slowly.

Walter, for his part, was bucking his hips upwards matching each thrust. He gasped when he felt Fox’s hand on his erection.  The twin sensations of having his ass fucked, and his dick pumped, were driving him insane. He knew Fox was an expert in dragging his orgasm out so he tried to concentrate on not coming.

Alex watched his lovers, and couldn’t keep the smile off his face. Fox pumped into Walter’s body, and Walter’s moans of pleasure filled the room; they were so hot together that Alex could hardly breathe.

“How…how you doing, baby,” Fox said between pants. “You okay?”

“Oh, fuck yeah,” Walter said, “I’m so close…Fox…I’m so close.”

“Just hang in there, just a little longer, baby, just a little longer,” Fox said, slamming back in, after pulling out almost all the way.

“FUCK!” Walter screamed as Fox unerringly found that special spot inside him.

Fox had timed it so his thrust coincided with one last pull of Walter’s penis. Walter yelled as he came, and his ass tightened around Fox’s erection, making his lover come as well.

Fox fell forward onto Walter’s expansive chest, trying to catch his breath.

A sound to their left made both men turn their heads, and they started chuckling as Alex’s head come over the side of the bed, from where he had fallen to the floor.

“You…you okay?” Fox asked in between pants.

“That was fucking hot,” Alex said, climbing back onto the bed, “Holy shit! That was hot.”

“Glad we could…uhm…gods…entertain you,” Walter said, rubbing his big hands over Fox’s back.

“Stop that,” Fox said without much heat, “You gonna make me fall asleep.”

“I could use some sleep,” Walter said, yawning, “I’m drained.”

“Let’s get cleaned up,” Fox said but didn’t move, “Maybe later.”

“You are going to get stuck together,” Alex said.

“Can think of worse things,” Fox said, smiling, but finally rolling off Walter.

Within fifteen minutes, the bed was changed, the bodies cleaned, and the three men were snuggled back under the covers.

When Walter noticed that Alex had finally drifted off, he turned to Fox, who was almost asleep himself, and asked, “You tell him?”

“No,” Fox said shaking his head slightly, “Tomorrow.”

“Okay,” Walter said, his eyes drooping, “Night, I love you.”

“Love you too,” Fox whispered back.

“Where is Walter?” Alex asked as he walked into their shared office.

“Had to go check something with the car,” Fox said, not looking up from his computer, “Should be back in about twenty.”

“You need any help?” Alex asked.

This time Fox did look up, and smiled as he asked, “Don’t you have a bunch of chores to take care of?”

“Yeah, but…” Alex said, fiddling with some of the papers in Fox’s inbox, “I don’t like to be downstairs all by myself when I know you are up here. At least when Walter is home, he could be downstairs with me.”

“Okay, you can stay up here,” Fox said, “Can you hand me those faxes that just came in? My machine is not working, so I had them sent to yours.”

Alex moved to the other side of the room, to the fax machine that was attached to the computer that he and Walter shared. Picking up the papers from the tray, he glanced at them quickly, and his eyes widened in surprise. “Fox?” he asked, his voice soft.

“Yeah,” Fox said, looking at him.

“These…uhm…these faxes, they are from…” Alex began as he handed him the papers.

“My new schedule,” Fox said, taking them from Alex’s slightly shaking hand, “I asked that they fax it this morning.”

“But…but it says that,” Alex said, swallowing hard, “We…we are going to Australia.”

Fox smiled, and patted his lap, “Come here,” he said, and waited until Alex had taken a seat, “I called my agent, and told him I wanted some changes.”

“But Fox, that schedule only shows Australia, New Zealand, and Japan” Alex said, “Nothing for the states.”

“We are doing two separate trips,” Fox explained, “Since we did the States last book, we are doing Australia, New Zealand, and Japan. Then when we get back, do some select cities here.”

“Why? I mean, I’m happy, but why?” Alex asked, his eyes beginning to brim with tears.

“Hey, what’s this?” Fox asked, whipping one tear away, “I thought you’d said you are happy?”

Hugging him, Alex said, “I am, but what did you have to do so they would change the schedule. Ursula and Yvonne told me the author doesn’t usually have much to say about the tour scheduling.”

“I had something they wanted,” Fox said.

Looking at him suspiciously, Alex said, “What did you do, Fox?”

“Don’t worry, I’m not giving head to the entire publishing team,” Fox said with a laugh, “Since the first book, they wanted me to sign an extension on my contract. I wanted to sign on for three books, they wanted five…so…”

“You signed for five books? But Fox, you said that three was more than enough, that it took longer than you thought, and it kept you from doing things you wanted to, and that…”

Fox, but a finger on Alex’s lips to keep him from continuing, and said, “I know I said all that, and I meant it…at the time.”

“Five books…” Alex said.

“Four, we compromised,” Fox said, “I wanted three, they wanted five, and I told them I would do four only if I had my way on the schedule. We agreed to all terms, and now we are spending three weeks touring Australia, one week in New Zealand, and a week in Japan.”

“Oh, Fox,” Alex said, overcome with emotion. “I don’t deserve it, not after what I said to you.”

“That’s all in the past,” Fox said, hugging him tightly.

“I take it you told him,” Walter said, as he entered the room.

“Yeah,” Fox said, smiling at him.

Alex turned to face Walter, “Do you know how wonderful this man is?”

Walter smiled, and said, “I have a vague idea. Are you happy?”

“What do you think,” Alex said, giving them a blinding smile, “We are going to Australia!”
