Mnemosyne (Goddess of Memories)

Chapter 10 - Part 2

Harrisburg Hospital

October 15th

"Here you go son," Walter Skinner Sr. said as he handed his namesake a cup of coffee, "Any change?"

Walter glanced up and gave a slight shake of his head as he accepted the coffee, "No…nothing yet."

"The doctors say his vitals are good…that he should be waking up soon," the older man said trying to comfort his distraught son. Looking at the still form of Fox Mulder, Walter Sr. could fully understand the emotions clearly written on his son's face. It had been nearly two full days since Fox's accident and Walter Jr. had hardly left his lover's side. The other occupant of the room, Alex Krycek, had been almost forcibly removed so he'd go get something to eat. Both Walter and Alex had been keeping a guilty vigil over their unconscious lover.

"Dad? What…what am I going to do…if…if he doesn’t," Walter voice cracked with emotion as his eyes flooded with tears.

"Walter…son…look at me," the older man said and waited until his son did as requested, "You have to have faith that Fox will be fine…but should something happen you will not be alone to deal with it. We are all here for you and for Alex."

"I know Dad…but…but how is he ever…ever going to forgive me?"

"Forgive you? Forgive you for what Walter?"

"I…we forgot…forgot his birthday," Walter said, still in shock of how both he and Alex had completely forgotten Fox's birthday. "I know we've…we've been busy…with finding Gabriel and all but…but there is no excuse…no excuse for having forgotten."

"I'm sure Fox will understand and that you'll make up to him," Walter Sr. said squeezing his son's shoulder and pulling him close for a one-armed hug. "Can you imagine what he could do with all the guilt you and Alex have…he could have a field day making you do whatever he wants."

Walter Jr. couldn't help but chuckle at the thought of Fox having two repentant lovers as slaves for a while, "I'd gladly do anything he asks for as long as he wants if he forgives me."

Walter Sr. placed a gentle kiss on the bald scalp and once again hugged his son as the younger man's shoulders shook with suppressed sobs.

"Alex!"

Alex Krycek turned at the sound of his name and saw Dana Scully and John Doggett rushing towards him, "Dana, John…"

"Alex what happened? We got the message and got here as soon as we could," Scully said as she pulled him into a hug.

"He…he had an accident. Ran a red light and got hit by a car," Krycek said as he stood stiffly in the hug.

Scully noticed and pushed back until she could look into his face, "What else Alex? What aren't you telling me?" Alex couldn't bring himself to tell her the horrible thing he had done and hung his head, avoiding her eyes. "Alex…please…you are scaring me. Tell me what happened."

"He…he ran the red light…because…because he was upset," Alex said still not looking at her.

"Cooper can you tell me what the hell is going on?" Scully asked Alex's twin who had been standing quietly to one side watching the scene.

Cooper glanced at his brother and seeing that he was not going to answer said, "We think that Fox was not paying attention because he was upset."

Noting that his fiancée was about to loose her temper, something he did not look forward to, Doggett said, "We gathered that he was upset…upset about what?"

"Uhm…it seems that everyone forgot…forgot that it was his birthday," Cooper said sheepishly.

Scully brought a hand to her mouth as she gasped, "Oh my God…his birthday…was…was…"

"Two days ago," Alex said quietly, "Walter, myself and I guess by your reaction you as well…we all forgot."

"What's his condition?" Doggett asked.

"He…he is still unconscious," Alex said, "I…I just went to get something to eat and I'm heading back to the room now."

"Where is Walter?" Scully asked.

"He is with Fox," Cooper said, "I had to drag Alex out of the room in order to get him to eat something. Neither he or Walter have left Fox's side since they were allowed in."

The foursome started walking towards the bank of elevators, which would take them up to the ICU.

"Walter? What's happened? Why are you out here? Why did you leave him alone?" Alex started firing questions at his lover as soon as he saw him standing outside of Fox's room.

Walter put his hands on Alex's shoulders to calm him down and said, "Fox started stirring and mumbling. His eyes fluttered open for a couple of seconds so I called the doctor. He is with him right now checking him. Calm down Alex."

"Okay…okay…it's just that…when I saw you out here I…" Alex said, trying to keep the fear out of his voice.

"Dana, John," Walter greeted his two friends, "I'm glad you are here."

"Walter you look terrible," Scully said as she looked at the haggard look the older man sported. Two-day's worth of beard's growth and dark circles under his eyes made him look older than his years.

"Thanks Scully…you always know what to say," Walter said and hugged the diminutive red head and rested his chin on top of her head. "Dana…I thought…I thought I'd lost him."

Feeling the slight tremors running through her former boss' body as she held on to him, Scully said, "You know how strong he is Walter…he has survived worse than this…he'll be fine."

"I hope so," Walter said releasing her and pulling Alex towards him, wrapping one arm around the Russian's shoulder, "He'll be fine…he'll be fine."

Alex looked up at Walter and seeing the concentrated look on his lover's face, laid his head on the broad shoulder and said, "Yeah…he has to be…"

"Mr. Mulder can you hear me?" Doctor Foster said as he watched the young man on the bed struggling to regain consciousness.

Fox Mulder felt as he was trying to find his way out of a long dark tunnel. He could hear a faint voice calling his name and he turned his head towards the sound. A sharp pain made him wince and groan and he decided that moving his head, even a fraction, was not in his best interest. After a few moments he finally managed to open his eyes wide enough to see the man hovering over him.

"Where…what…what happened," Fox managed to croak out through parched lips.

"You were in a car accident," the doctor explained as he took a glass of water from the nurse assisting him and helped Mulder take a sip.

"A car…accident…" Fox said and his brow furrowed in confusion, "How…how is the driver?"

Now it was Doctor Foster's turn to look confused, "The driver? You mean of the other car? He is fine, just minor bruising from the seat belt."

"No…I meant the person…who was driving…the car I was in," Fox said and lifted his hand to touch the bandage on his head. "My head hurts."

"You received a nasty bump. We had to operate to relieve the pressure."

Fox put his hand down and looked at the doctor, "You are American."

Doctor Foster was taken aback by the comment and it was a few seconds before he could respond, "Well… yes I am…why do you ask?"

"I…I just haven't heard…that accent much these last few…months."

"What?" Doctor Foster asked in now total confusion, "Mr. Mulder what is the last thing you remember?"

Once again Fox's brow furrowed at he tried to recall his last memory. "Uhm…everything…everything is kind of fuzzy…but…but I think I was on my…my way from class…I was supposed to meet Roger…"

"Mr. Mulder, you were in a car accident. You were driving and ran a red light…"

"No…that can't be…I don’t have…don’t have a license to drive here," Mulder said starting to get nervous.

"What do you mean you don’t have a license to drive here? Mr. Mulder where do you think you are?"

"That is a stupid question," Fox said becoming increasingly distressed, "I'm in Oxford…England," noting the look of surprise on the doctor and nurses' face he added, "Aren't I."

x0x0x0x0x0x0x0x0x0

"Doctor how is he?" Walter asked as soon as the door to Fox's room opened and the doctor stepped out. The look on the physician's face made Walter's blood run cold with dread, "Doctor…what is it?"

Alex looked in bewilderment between the two men. He didn't like feeling like he was missing something, it made him feel out of control and that was something he could not get used to. "What's wrong?"

"Gentlemen please," Doctor Foster said putting up his hands to ward off the questions, "Mr. Mulder is awake…"

"That's good…isn't it," Alex said eagerly, "Right."

"Yes…of course…but there is a complication."

"A complication?" Scully said, "I'm Dana Scully…I'm one of Mulder's doctors. What sort of complication?"

"It appears as if the blow to the head Mr. Mulder received has damaged his memory."

"What! What do you mean?" both Alex and Walter said almost simultaneously.

"Mr. Mulder believes he is in Oxford England and that the year is nineteen eighty one."

"What! How is that possible," Walter asked, his worry clearly written on his face.

"It is not unusual for someone with a head injury such as Mr. Mulder sustained to experience some memory loss…"

"Then it is temporary?" Alex asked expectantly, "He'll remember won't he?"

"Only time will tell," Doctor Foster said apologetically, "I wish I could give you more definite answers but it is just too soon to tell."

"Can we see him?" Scully asked.

"Would he have known any of you in eighty one?"

"No…we didn’t meet until he was in his early thirties…in eighty-one he was only twenty," Walter explained.

"Uhm…then let me talk to him first," the doctor said, "Let me try to explain to him what happened. Seeing all of you and not recognizing you might be more of a shock than what his mind can handle. I'll try to tell him what is going on and will introduce you…or at least the idea of you to him."

Not liking the idea but knowing that the doctor was probably right Walter said, "Very well. We will call the rest of the family and tell them what's happened. We will be in the waiting area."

"No Walter…I want to go in…I want to see him, make sure he is all right," Alex said stepping towards the door, just to be stopped in his tracks by Walter's hand on his arm. "Walter let me go…I want…"

"Alexei, right now it is not what you or I want…it's what is best for Fox," Walter said gently but firmly, making sure the younger man understood his meaning.

"But…"

"Walter is right bro," Cooper said, "Why don’t you and I go make some phone calls. I’m sure Gabriel and Chris would like to be here as well as Walter's folks."

Looking decidedly unhappy Alex finally conceded and followed his twin towards the waiting area.

"Sorry about that Doctor," Walter said, "Alex…is just very worried about him. We…we all are."

"Believe me Mr. Skinner I understand," the doctor, said kindly, "I'll let you know as soon as Mr. Mulder is ready to talk to you."

When they were alone Scully put a comforting arm on Walter's arm and said, "He'll be fine Walter…"

"You don’t know how sick and tired I am of hearing that word…fine," Walter said with sudden anger, "He wouldn't need to be 'fine' if he hadn't been upset at my thoughtlessness…"

"Our thoughtlessness Walter…we all forgot his birthday. We are all guilty."

"There is no guilt here," John said, "No one set out to purposely forget Mulder's birthday. It was just an unfortunate happening. I don’t think he needs all of you to be feeling guilty instead of concentrating on getting him better."

"You are right John," Scully agreed, "Come on Walter, let's go find Alex and try to figure out what we are going to do to help Mulder."

x0x0x0x0x0x0x0x0x0

"Do you have any questions?"

"A million but none that will make me feel any better," Mulder said with a sigh. He was sitting up in bed, propped up with pillows.

"Would you like to meet the people I talked to you about?"

"These…these men that you say I live with…"

"Walter Skinner and Alex Krycek."

"What is my relationship with them?"

"I think it is better that they explain that to you themselves," the doctor said, "You seem to have a long history together."

"Do…do they seem…do they seem like good people?" Fox asked hesitantly.

The doctor put a comforting hand on his arm and said, "They seem like the best. They are very concerned about you Mr. Mulder. Okay?"

Nodding slightly Mulder said, "Okay."

"If it gets to be too much for you, press the call button and a nurse will come and get me," the doctor said and when Mulder nodded in understanding he stepped to the door and opened it. "He'll see you now," he said and stepped back to allow Walter and Alex to enter.

Mulder saw the hesitation in both the men and tried to smile reassuringly, knowing that deep inside he was scared shitless, "Uhm…hello."

Walter was the first to react and smiled as he approached the bed, "Hello Fox…I'm Walter…Walter Skinner."

"I guess saying it's a pleasure to meet you would be incorrect since I am supposed to have already met you," Fox said quickly trying to fill the silence that had suddenly descended on the room. "You must be Alex Krycek?"

Krycek, who had been staring at Mulder, swallowed hard and nodded, "Yes. I'm Krycek, Alex Krycek," he said as he put out his hand to shake.

Fox winced slightly and took the offered hand.

"Are you all right?" Walter asked when he noticed the pinched looked around Mulder's eyes.

"Yes," Mulder said, "I just go this flash of pain. It'll go away soon. Now…uhm…can you fill some of these gaps in my memory."

"I guess it is a twenty year gap," Walter said as he took a seat next to the bed. "Fox…some of what we have to tell you is not very pleasant."

"I understand," Fox said carefully and then looked at Alex who looked very uncomfortable. "How…how about we go slowly? Maybe something you tell me will trigger a memory."

"All right," Walter said, "Alex why don’t you make yourself comfortable, I think we'll be here a while."

Alex looked around the room for a place to sit but the only other place was a small couch a few feet away from the bed.

Mulder wasn't sure what made him do what he did but the sad look in the green eyes of the man in front of him made him slide his legs to one side and pat the bed next to him, "You can sit here Alex. There is plenty of space."

Walter couldn't help the smile that surfaced at the look of utter joy in Alex's face at the invitation. He knew that Alex was worried that when they told Mulder about their shared past Mulder wouldn't be as forgiving as he had been when he had all his memories.

Skinner Family Farm

October 17th

Walter and Alex had spent three days with Fox at the hospital. Each day they covered a little more of the memories missing from their lover's brain. The ten years of Fox's life that Walter and Alex had not been a part of where covered quickly. Both men were careful as they discussed the following ten years. Alex had mentioned to Walter that he felt as if they were walking through a minefield, never knowing if something they said or did would cause Mulder to turn away from them.

Now, three days after regaining consciousness, Fox had been released from the hospital. It had been decided that he would recuperate for a couple of days at the Skinner farm before going back home to Virginia. Doctor Foster had suggested that a slow easing back into his normal routine would make things easier for all concerned and Walter and Alex would do anything to make things easy for Fox.

"You sure have a lot of family Walter," Fox said as he sat on the bed in Walter's old room.

Skinner chuckled, "Yes I do. And they are all very concerned about you Fox. They all wanted to be here when you came home."

"Do we come here often?"

"Lately yes. My folks didn't know about you or Alex until a few months ago."

"Why?"

"Because…well because I wasn’t sure how to tell them about our relationship."

"You mean that we, Alex, you and I are lovers," Fox said matter of factly.

"Uhm…yes," Walter said at the flat tone of the question. They had told Mulder of their relationship the previous day and had been surprised by the calm manner he had taken the news.

"Walter it's okay you know," Fox said noting the sudden flush on the older man's face. "I don’t remember us…don’t remember how the three of us were, how we met, or even if we were happy. But I do know that I feel…safe with you, with both of you. I know you will not hurt me, so I have to figure that we had a good life together."

"I'm glad you feel safe with us Fox," Walter said and knelt in front of the younger man and took his slender hands in his much broader ones, "I'd do anything to keep you safe, anything."

Fox suddenly yawned and he tried to quickly cover it up, "Sorry Walter…it's not you. I guess all that medication the doctors have me on is making me sleepy."

"That's all right. You should get some sleep," Walter said and stood. Almost as a reflex he bent down and kissed Mulder on the lips. Suddenly realizing what he had done he pulled back and stammered an apology, "Fox…I'm sorry, I shouldn't…"

"It's all right Walter," Fox assured him. "Uhm…maybe you should…I mean, maybe if you did that again I would, you know…remember something."

"Are you sure?"

"Yeah…I'm sure."

Walter sat on the bed next to Mulder and gently leaned in for another kiss. As he deepened the kiss he was rewarded by Fox slowly wrapping his arms around him and tentatively hugging him. He was more surprised when he felt Fox's tongue darting hesitantly into his mouth.

Neither man noticed when the door opened but both heard the sharp intake of breath. They broke the kiss and turned to see a shocked and none too happy looking Alex standing at the door.

"Alex?" Walter said as he saw the look of hurt on the young man's face.

"Damn you Walter," was all Alex said before he turned on his heel and ran out of the room.

"What the hell was that all about?" Fox asked in surprise.

"I have to go after him Fox," Walter said as he stood up, "I'll explain later…Alex has some issues."

"Okay Walter," Fox said not fully understanding. When the older man rushed out of the room Fox put his fingers to his mouth and smiled at the memory of the kiss.

x0x0x0x0x0x0x0x0x0

"Alex stop…Alex stop running," Walter shouted as he ran full speed after the Russian. "Alexei…Nikolai… Krycek…stop running right now." When Alex continued to ignore him Walter did what he had learned as a high school and college football star, he tackled him.

Alex didn't know what hit him but to him it felt like a Grizzly bear had just landed on him, knocking the wind out of his lungs. He tried to scramble from under the heavy weight and managed to turn himself around so he now faced up, "Walter…get the fuck off me…damn it get off…"

"Not until you tell…me why…the hell…stop squirming Alex," Walter said trying to straddle the younger man. He finally was able to sit up and pin Alex's legs between his, "Alexei tell me why the hell you ran off like that."

"Get the fuck off me Walter," Alex said trying to buck his hips in an effort to dislodge the older man.

"Not until you tell me…"

"I said get off me," Alex snarled, "I hate you…you bastard I hate you…"

"All right, I've had enough of this tantrum," Walter said between clenched teeth. In one fluid motion he rolled off Alex and flipped him over, pinning one his arm to the small of his back, "You do not swear at me and kick at me for any reason, do you understand that?" Walter asked as he landed one spank for each word uttered.

Alex continued to squirm trying to avoid the heavily landing spanks, "Stop…stop…I hate you…let me go…"

"Not until I get an answer to why you suddenly decided to act like a brat," Walter said, never letting up on the spanking although his hand was beginning to ache since he had not had a chance to take Alex's jeans down. "We all agreed to talk about anything that was bothering us. I need you to tell me what is going on in that crazy Russian brain of yours. Are you ready to tell me or do I keep spanking."

"Sto…stop," Alex sobbed the pain in his rear mingling with the pain in his heart.

"All right," Walter said and stopped the punishment. He waited a few moments until Alex got his breathing under control and then helped the younger man to roll over. He quickly scooped him up in his strong arms and sat him on his lap so Alex's backside was off the ground. He cradled him against his chest and rubbed his hand in slow circles as he said, "Okay now…are you ready to tell me what that was all about?"

"You…you were kissing him," Alex said trying to not sniffle or wipe his nose on Walter's chest.

"So?"

"I…I just thought that…I thought that you were trying to…"

"To what Alex? You thought I was trying to take advantage of the situation. Trying to get him to get used to me before he got used to you?"

Alex pushed back slightly from Walter's chest and looked at him with surprise, "How did you know what I was thinking?"

"You forget that I love you very much and that I know how that paranoid little mind of yours works," Walter said trying not to chuckled at the outraged expression on Alex's beautiful face. "How could you think I would do something like that Alex? I accidentally kissed Fox and then he asked me to do it again…"

"How do you accidentally kiss someone?" Alex said with disbelief.

"Like this," Walter said before plundering the lips that hungrily kissed back.

Days of worry over Fox's health and their guilt over having forgotten his birthday culminated in a release of pent up emotions that manifested themselves in that one kiss. Nothing else mattered as they wrapped their arms around each other and rolled on the ground kissing fervently. Walter moved his attack to the edge of Alex's chin and continued to rain kisses up towards the Russian's ear before moving down the long elegant neck. Alex threw his head back trying to give him better access while at the same time struggling to get his hand between their bodies in an effort to undo his zipper.

"Wait…Alex wait…" Walter urged, "We can't…"

"What!" Alex said in shock, "Walter you can't be serious…I'm about to explode here."

"I know…Alex…but if you haven't…noticed we are outside and it's the middle of October," Walter said as he reluctantly rolled off to the side and sat up. Adjusting his uncomfortably straining crotch he said, "And besides we are in the middle of the meadow…couldn't you have run to the barn?"

"Well fuck Walter…I'm sorry," Alex said sarcastically, "I wasn’t thinking too clearly after having caught you two going it at…"

Walter sighed and hung his head, "Alex, do you really think I would try to take advantage of the situation by seducing Fox. I kissed him and he asked me to do it again. He thought it might help him jog his memory."

"Uhm…maybe I can get to experiment next," Alex said with a sly smile then he frowned as he sat up, "Damn Walter did you have to spank me so hard?"

"You made me run, you ignored me, you cursed at me, told me you hated me and you kicked me. Of course I was going to tan your ass. You are just lucky I didn’t take your pants down."

"I know…and I deserved it," Alex said sheepishly then grew serious, "Walter? What are we going to do if he doesn't get his memory back?"

Walter sighed before replying, "I don’t know Alex…but I know that we won't break up…"

"But how do you know that Walter?" Alex asked interrupting him. "What if he doesn't want to live with us…what if he doesn't…love us anymore?"

"Alex I wish I could reassure and tell you that it will not happen but I don’t know for sure. I know that he is very open to it. When I kissed him he wasn’t repulsed…he actually asked to do it again. I think he is willing to give it a try and see how things develop. I don’t think we should push him…"

"I don’t want to push him either but…"

"I know Alex…I'm scared too."

x0x0x0x0x0x0x0x0x0

"Hello."

"Hello Fox. How are you feeling?" Gabriel said with a wide smile as Fox entered the kitchen.

"I'm fine…Gabriel right?"

"Yes," the former priest said his smile widening.

"Uhm…where is everybody?"

"Cooper and Chris went into town to get some supplies for Walter's folks. Dana and John went to the hotel to change, they'll be back in a couple of hours. The rest of Walter's family went to their respective homes. I think they plan to be back tomorrow for lunch."

"What about Walter and Alex?" Fox asked, "Alex was kind of upset…he ran out…"

"Yes I saw him rush out," Gabriel said, "What happened? Sorry I shouldn't pry."

"No that's okay," Fox said, "I really could use someone objective to talk to."

"Well I don’t know how objective I can be since I am Alex's brother but I would be glad to listen."

Fox took a seat across the kitchen table and accepted the cup of coffee Gabriel offered, "Thanks."

"So what's on your mind?" Gabriel said then quickly added, "I guess that was a poor choice of words."

"No it's actually very funny," Fox said with a chuckle, "Do you know anything about my life…from before I mean."

"To be honest Fox, no I don’t. I only found out that you guys existed a few days ago. But I can tell a lot from the short time I have spent with you."

"Like what?"

"I can tell that Alex and Walter adore you."

"And that doesn’t bother you? I mean you are a priest…"

"I don’t judge Fox. I believe in letting everyone live their lives as they see fit as long as they don’t hurt anyone else. As I was saying…I see nothing but love when Alex and Walter look at you and at each other. You three have a special relationship. One born out of having faced terrible challenges together and having overcome them. You complement each other very well."

"Sounds like a have a pretty nice life," Fox said with a hint of sadness, "I wish I could remember it. All I know is what my first twenty years were like, and they weren't a whole lot of fun."

"Your life has not been easy Fox but you have reached a point where you are happy."

"Well Gabriel for someone who claims not to know much about me you sure are observant."

"Part of the job," Gabriel said with a chuckle. Glancing out the window he noticed Alex and Walter approaching. "I think you need to spend some time with Alex and Walter getting to know them. Maybe something they say or do will trigger your memory."

"I hope so," Fox said wistfully, "I find both of them very attractive."

"Both of whom?" Walter asked as he opened the kitchen door.

Without missing a beat Fox said, "Chris and Cooper."

It took all of Gabriel's willpower not to laugh out loud and the shocked look on both Alex and Walter's faces. Their eyes and mouths were wide open in disbelief at Fox's words.

"Man you should see your faces," Fox said trying unsuccessfully to hold back the giggle that erupted.

"Why you…" Walter growled menacingly but then could not help but join in the laughter. He was so happy that Fox was alive to joke around that he really didn’t care if he were the butt of the joke.

Alex looked at the three laughing men with confusion and said, "What's so damn funny? Did you hear what he said? He finds Chris and Cooper attractive."

"Alex he is just kidding," Walter said punching him lightly in the arm, completely forgetting about the prosthesis. He winced and shook his hand to ease the pain. "Damn that hurt."

Alex smiled smugly and said, "That's what you get for making fun of me." Turning back to face Fox he added, "And as for you…"

Fox put up his hands in self-defense and said, "I'm injured remember…" His tone was amused so he didn’t expect the reaction his words brought from both Alex and Walter. "What's the matter? What did I say?" he asked when he noticed both men shifting uncomfortably from foot to foot and their avoidance of meeting his eyes.

Alex didn't say anything but bolted out of the room and Walter offered a quick apology and followed him.

"What the hell?" Mulder asked with surprise at their sudden departure.

"Fox…there is something you should know about your accident," Gabriel said gently.

"What? Did I do something?"

"No Fox…you didn’t. Fox do you know what day you had the accident?"

"They said I was out for a couple of days…what do you mean? I don’t understand?"

"Fox your accident happened on your birthday," Gabriel explained. "Alex and Walter feel very guilty about that."

"Why should they?"

"They…they forgot your birthday. With everything that was going on in regards to finding me it slipped their minds. You were driving and you ran a red light because you were upset."

"How do you know?"

"The last place you were before the accident was the drugstore picking up something for Mrs. Skinner. The clerk there is a friend of the family and he called when he found you had been hurt. He said that you were very upset and that you had purchased a card…a birthday card…when he asked you who it was for you said it was for yourself since no one seemed to give a damn that you were ever born."

Fox was quite for a few minutes, staring intently into the half-empty coffee cup. "They forgot my birthday? I thought you said…I thought you said they loved me? How could they forget?"

"Fox they are human…they made a mistake," Gabriel said softly as he patted Fox's arm, "They feel awful about it Fox. Do you think you can forgive them?"

"I don’t know…I guess," Fox said with uncertainty, "I think it I better go talk to them."

"I think that is a good idea," Gabriel said. "Fox I'm here if you want to talk."

"Thanks Gabriel," Fox said with a grateful smile.

The ex-priest watched Mulder leave and said a quick prayer that everything would work out.

x0x0x0x0x0x0x0x0x0

"Can I come in?" Mulder asked after knocking on the door to Walter and Alex's room.

"Sure Fox," Walter said with a tight smile, "We didn’t mean to run out on you like that. You see the…"

"It's all right Walter. Gabriel explained to me what happened. How I got hurt because I was upset that you forgot about my birthday."

"Oh Gods!" Alex cried in anguish and sat down on the bed. When his still sore backside made contact with the mattress he jumped to his feet. "Damn."

Fox looked at him with puzzlement and asked, "Are you all right Alex? What's the matter with your back?"

Alex flushed to the root of his sable hair and said, "Uhm…its nothing."

"That was not a nothing yelp," Fox pushed, "Did you hurt yourself?"

"We were talking about how we hurt you Fox," Alex said trying to change the subject.

Fox was not easily dissuaded and said, "Did you fall?"

"No!"

"Alex just tell him," Walter said, "Besides that is something we really didn’t discuss as part of our relationship with him."

"What part of our relationship?" Fox asked curiously.

"We…that is…the three of us…you, me and Walter…we…us...we have a kind of an agreement," Alex said completely flustered.

"What he is trying to say is that we have a discipline relationship Fox," Walter said coming to Alex's rescue. "When one of us does something we shouldn't the other two get to punish him."

Fox's eyes widened in surprise, "You mean you spanked Alex? And you get to spank me too? Do I get to spank anybody?"

Walter could not help but smile at the eagerness in Fox's voice. It was clear that Fox was enthralled with the idea of punishment. "Yes to all your questions."

"Cool," Fox said with a wicked grin, "Can I see your butt?"

"What!" Alex cried in amazement. "NO!"

"Oh come on Alex," Fox pleaded, "The doctor said that we should act as close to normal as possible so that something that is familiar to me might trigger my memory." To make his point he stuck out his lower lip slightly. It seemed that he had not forgotten how to use his pout to get Walter and Alex to melt.

"You better do as he asks Alex," Walter said trying to keep a straight face, "You said you wanted to experiment trying to get Fox's memory back."

Alex glared at him through his lashes, "Why do you get to kiss him in the experiment and I have to show him my ass?"

"Alexei drop them," Walter said growling.

"Oh fine," Alex grumbled and undid his the button of his jeans and shimmied them down his hips. His boxers soon followed. He blushed furiously when he heard Fox give a low whistle of appreciation at the sight. Sighing dramatically he said, "Happy? Can I pull my pants up?"

"You could or…" Fox said as he continued to stare at the still pink buttocks.

"Or? Or what Fox," Alex asked looking over his shoulder.

Meeting his eyes and then turning to look at Walter, Mulder said, "Or you could take all your clothes off and we could…uhm…make love…"

Alex looked at Walter in surprise and then back at Fox, "You sure Fox?"

Biting his lower lip Mulder nodded quickly, "Yeah…I'm sure."

Not wanting to look a gift horse in the mouth Walter said, "Okay. I think we better go to the barn…I don’t think we should do it here."

It didn't take much urging to get the other two moving, although they did have to wait for Alex to pull his pants up.

"Hey Gabriel."

"Hello Cooper."

"Where is our little brother?"

"Barn."

"Alone?"

"No."

"Walter or Fox?"

"Both."

"Good."

"Yes."

"Sex?"

"No thanks."

"Very funny. I meant if you thought they were going to have sex."

"I know."

"Brat."

"Yup."

"You remember where that goes?" Alex said, as he lay sprawled on the loft's floor.

Looking down at his rampart erection and then back at Alex, Fox stuck out his tongue before replying, "Yes. Want me to show you?"

"Bring it on baby," Alex said flipping onto his stomach and wiggling his butt enticingly at the older man.

"What about Walter?"

"I think I want to watch if that's all right?" Walter said as he sat on a nearby bale of hay.

"Suit yourself Big Guy," Fox said with a smile. "What?" he added when he saw the look on Walter's face.

"You called me Big Guy," Walter said softly, "That's what you usually call me."

"Maybe my memory is coming back," Fox said smiling. "Did…did we ever make love here? In the barn I mean."

"Yes. The first time we came to meet the family in July," Alex said elated at the turn of events.

"Then I think we better get on with it," Fox said with a wicked grin.

Fox did quick work of preparing Alex with the lube the younger man had carried in his jacket's pocket. Then covering his penis with the remainder of the slick substance, he positioned himself behind Alex and slowly and very gently penetrated him.

"Fox you can go a little faster," Alex urged, "I'm not going to break."

"I…I just don't know how you like it Alex," Fox said pushing in faster, "Give me a sec…"

"Stop talking and get moving," Walter urged as he watched the two lithe bodies find their rhythm. As much as he enjoyed being a participant in their love making he also enjoyed watching his boys going at it. They were a thing of beauty to behold as Fox slid in and out of Alex causing the young Russian to moan in ecstasy. The barn was well insulated so that even in mid-October it was warm enough that Fox was beginning to sweat from the exertion of trying to keep from coming too soon. Walter watched entranced as a bead of sweat rolled down Fox's back, slowly making its way down the curving spine, eventually disappearing into the crack between the two smooth, white mounds.

"I…I don’t think…I can…can hold on much…" Fox gasped as he felt his restrain weakening.

"Go for it," Alex said, his eyes closed and his mouth open slightly, allowing Walter to catch a glimpse of a little pink tongue darting in and out. Walter could just picture that naughty little tongue darting in and out of his own mouth and he lost all self-control and rushed to kiss Alex.

The suddenness of the kiss caught Alex by surprise and he reacted by tightening his whole body, including his anal muscles.

"Yeow…Alex you are going to kill me," Fox screeched when he felt the pressure surround his cock. He could not hold it any longer and he sighed with relief as the climax tore through him and he emptied his load into Alex.

The younger man was too busy to notice as he was having his tonsils washed by Walter's very persistent tongue.

Fox pulled out of Alex and leaned back trying to catch his breath. He watched the two other men kiss with a goofy, satisfied grin on his face. His eyes widened appreciatively as he saw Walter's hand sneak under Alex's still semi-prone body and grab the still unspent penis. It only took a quick pull and Alex exploded all over Walter's hand.

"Man you guys look so hot," Fox said as the men broke the kiss.

"You weren't too bad yourself," Alex said with a grin as he rolled to a sitting position.

"Thanks," Fox said and then yawned, "I'm sorry…I guess I'm still a little tired."

"We better get back to the house," Walter said standing up and helping Alex do the same.

"Yeah," Fox said looking up at them and smiling, "The last time we did this we fell asleep and had to sneak back to the house in the…"

"Fox? Fox you remember that?" Walter asked cautiously, not trying to get his hopes us.

Fox frowned and then smiled, as more of the memories became clear, "There was a rooster."

"Yeah," Alex said grinning like a kid, "You punched Walter on the nose thinking he was the alarm clock."

"I remember," Fox said, "I remember."

Skinner-Mulder-Krycek Residence

October 21st

"Thanks again for coming guys," Fox said as he walked the Gunmen to the door.

"Thanks for inviting us to your party Mulder," Byers said, "Even after we forgot your birthday."

"Well I understand you were a little involved with that convention in Las Vegas," Fox smiled.

"Well you sure are nice being so forgiving," Langly said. "I'd be pissed if these two forgot my birthday."

"He's not being exactly forgiving are you Mulder?" Frohike said with a leer as he glanced at the two men who were heading to the kitchen.

Mulder turned to watch as Alex and Walter and smiled wickedly. "They've been very good about making it up to me. This party was great, as was the party they threw me at the farm. They have been the picture of solicitous lovers."

"We better get going then and let you get back to your love slaves," Frohike said with a bigger leer.

When the three men had left Fox joined his lovers in the kitchen. "You haven't started?"

"Oh come on Fox," Walter pleaded, trying for the pout he knew did not compare to Fox's or even Alex's, "Haven't we done enough for you to forgive us yet? Uh?"

"Yeah Fox," Alex piped up, "You made us make those evil paddles. You've spanked us with those evil paddles every day for the last four days. We've stood in the corner. We've cleaned the house from top to bottom…"

"Alex, don’t say bottom. You are going to give him ideas," Walter hissed at him.

"Don’t worry Walter," Fox said, "I think the paddling I gave you made enough of an impression. I thought I was being very creative."

"You were," Walter agreed glancing at the twin paddles hanging from a hook on the kitchen wall. One paddle, made by Walter Sergie Skinner had a backward '10' carved into the wood. The other made by Alexei Nikolai Krycek, had a backward '13' carved into it. When they had asked Fox why he had made them make the paddles he had demonstrated by using each paddle once against each of their buttocks.

They hadn't understood until they looked at each other's butts and saw 1013 clearly imprinted.

"1013," Fox said by way of an explanation. "October 13th…I don’t think you'll be forgetting that too soon, but to make sure you are going to do lines."

"But Fox, one thousand thirteen times?" Alex whined.

"This is the last of it," Fox said with a smile, "You write that and it's a clean slate."

Alex glanced at the top of the pad and read, "Fox knows I love him even if I forget his birthday." Alex's eyes filled with tears as he looked up at his smiling lover, "Thanks Fox."

Walter read what Fox had written on his pad and swallowed hard, "Fox knows I love him three hundred sixty five days a year not just one."

"Okay fellas you have three hours to work on this," Fox said, "I'm going to do some writing of my own on the new book. In three hours I expect you to be finished, to go upstairs, shower and to join me in bed where we will proceed to see just how much you do love me."

He couldn’t help but chuckled as two heads quickly bent down over their respective pads and began to write furiously.
