Why We Love Children A woman was trying to get the ketchup out of the jar. During her struggle the phone rang so she asked her 4-year old daughter to answer the phone. "Mommy can't come to the phone to talk to you right now. She's hitting the bottle." It was the end of the day when I parked my police van in front of the station. As I gathered my equipment, my K-9 partner, Jake, was barking, and I saw a little boy staring in at me. "Is that a dog you got back there?" he asked. "It sure is, " I replied. Puzzled, the boy looked at me and then towards the back of the van. Finally he said, "What'd he do?"

Chalk Chalk can be wrapped in cheesecloth and placed in your silverware drawer or jewelry box to slow down tarnishing. Rub chalk on a grease spot on clothing or table linens and let it absorb the oil before you brush it off. If the stain lingers, rub chalk into it again before laundering. Get rid of ring-around-the-collar stains too. The chalk will absorb the oils that hold dirt in.

Simple Solutions Work space for children: If a child wants to help out in the kitchen, pull out a drawer and lay a cutting board across it for his own work space. Exchange Chores: When children protest over doing chores, offer to exchange one of your chores for hers. Too Much TV: Give children a small sum over their regular allowance. Each time they watch a television show, charge them a nickel. They'll select their programs more carefully. Or let them earn TV tokens by doing a chore or completing their homework without a fuss. Saving Children's Drawings: Spray drawings and artwork with hairspray to keep colors from fading and smudging.

HELP!!! Has anyone ever successfully removed dry erase marker from clothing? We have tried drawing on a cloth and used a variety of products for ink removal to get rid of the marks. We have also tried products not intended for ink but have not been successful with anything. Hairspray gets out ball point ink but not dry erase marker. If you have experimented with anything that removed the dry erase marker please let Mrs. Cook know. e-mail: [email protected]
