Jesus appeared in the traditional appearance we see Him in the framed photos in every Sunday School, and spoke; "I Jesus come to you... " It electrified me, no less than had I stuck my finger into a light socket, causing me to sit bolt upright in bed.
It was an honor, and I know not the reason for the visit, but will probably never forget the moment.
Conclusion One: Whatever fault may be found with the organized churches, whatever anti-Christian books may be written or movies produced, the power of Jesus the entity is not diminished.
Conclusion Two: Holding beliefs outside the Bible, outside conventional religion, does not exclude Jesus from one's circle of Friends. Translation: "It isn't bad to believe other than Sunday School rote!"
May I suggest pushing back the envelope of your beliefs to seek more?
