California Vacation Summer 2000
Hagerstown to Pittsburg to San Diego by US Air for a rendezvous with our daughter Cassie and her husband Trent followed by a trip north to Folsom to visit our son Bill and his fiance Melissa. We went to several beaches in the San Diego and spent the last night on the ocean in Cambria. San Diego to Pittsburg to Hagerstown left us tired but with great memories.

Moonstone Beach in Cambria. The Hearst Castle at San Simeon is on the second peak from the left in the background. It's about 6 miles north.
Looking for moon stones on the beach. They're clear with opal-like characteristics in the sun. We found a host of other cool stones including, possibly, California jade.

The tide pool scene, frozen only by a picture. The froth on top is probably a result of proteins dissolved in the water. Tide pools and their constantly moving support a plethora of organisms many of which are attached to the rocks.

Tide pools - better than the movies! Not saying much in summer of 2000 though. A bland film period.
