Dave Giesbrecht

Capt'n Dave moved out to the west coast a few years back but drops in for a visit every now and then.

March 2001, Dave gives the low down on the new RCS 1.4 gas engine.

Dave compares the RCS 1.4  to the G23, fits in the Platt Spitfire plans nicely

DALOTEL FLIES

The big day finally arrived and no more excuses not to get the Dalotel in the air. After a complete inspection it was lined up on the runway and with full power it lifted off in less than 30 feet. After that I was hanging on for dear life as I was trying to get a bit of down trim to level it out. The engine didn't miss a beat. Ailerons were a bit sensitive as was the elevator. Inverted flight indicated a nose heavy condition so the 4 oz. of lead I put in the nose as a precaution was not needed.
My objective seem to have been met. I have a great Sundy flier, Big Bird, IMAC and scale airplane all rolled into one.
