Dave Giesbrecht Capt'n Dave moved out to the west coast a few years back but drops in for a visit every now and then. The big day finally arrived and no more excuses not to get the
Dalotel in the air. After a complete inspection it was lined up on the runway
and with full power it lifted off in less than 30 feet. After that I was
hanging on for dear life as I was trying to get a bit of down trim to
level it out. The engine didn't miss a beat. Ailerons were a bit sensitive as
was the elevator. Inverted flight indicated a nose heavy condition so the 4
oz. of lead I put in the nose as a precaution was not needed.
My objective seem to have been met. I have a
great Sundy flier, Big Bird, IMAC and scale airplane all rolled into one.
