Welcome to the Navy page of
Kenneth
W. Russell, LCDR,USN,Ret.

Having served twenty-two years
and eight months in the US Navy I was able to obtain more goals than the
average person does in one career. As a Chief Petty Officer I was certified
to train and certify welding inspectors and welders in the nuclear and
conventional methods. I also served on board the USS Garrett County LST
(AGP) 786 on the rivers of Viet Nam.
Taking a Commission as an Ensign,
through the LDO Program (Enlisted to Commission) at the 12 year point in
my career provided me with the opportunity to serve in very demanding and
rewarding positions. During the Iranian Hostage seige I filled the billet
of the DCA on board the
USS
Constellation CV 64

Having been retired since 1988
my wonderful wife Gloria has been as patient as a Saint while I figure
out what I'm going to do with the rest of my life. For those of you that
have spent time in the service you know the feeling you get when you see
the "Stars and Stripes"
For those of you that enjoy
the freedom our military provides this great nation
