| Language Arts- The children are almost finished with their letter Z book. This is their last letterbook. Letterbook Z emphasizes the following: associating noise words with pictures, blending sounds to read words, reviewing all letters, identifying zoo animals, developing auditory memory, rhyming, spelling, and the story, The Dragon in the Clock Box. It is incredible to see how much they have accomplished this year! If your child wants to be a class reader, please have them bring in the book they would like to read to the class. |
| Music- The children continue to have fun with our daily songs. They are also practicing their songs for the Kindergarten celebration. If your child is not going to attend this event, please let me know as soon as possible. They also had fun singing and dancing to �zoodeo�. |
| Religion- We are discussing friends and how Jesus wants us to care for one another. We continue to practice our Hail Mary as we recognize Mary during May. |
| Math- We continue to work on our larger numbers to 30. They now know several �tricks� to help them add and subtract faster. They enjoyed playing �Around the Kingdom�. The children are getting really good at telling time and counting by fives. Please continue to help them practice these skills at home. We had a fantastic time at the zoo. Thanks to all the chaperones who helped make this day so fun and relaxing! If your child has a summer birthday and wishes to celebrate it at school, please feel free to pick a date and we will recognize them with an early birthday! Just let me know when you wish to send in treats, so that I can make sure we don't have several the same day! |
