WHAT SHE WANTS

The idea for this parable is credited to Elan Mazer.

Jerry truly loved his wife. He desired nothing more than for her to be happy. Periodically, he would buy flowers for her, because of the great happiness she felt when receiving flowers.
One day, Jerry's wife was preparing dinner, and she accidentally cut her thumb with a knife. She looked for bandaids, but they had none left. She called her husband and asked him to buy some bandaids and come home as quickly as possible. Jerry's response was very predictable: "Of course, my love. I'll be home in ten minutes." So his wife ran water over her thumb and waited for her husband.
He immediately got into the car and drove to the pharmacy. But then he noticed that, right next to the pharmacy, there was a flower store. He immediately decided that his wife would really prefer flowers to bandaids, so he went into the flower store. When he came out with a bouquet of roses, he had no time left to get the bandaids.
Do you imagine his wife was pleased when Jerry came home with the flowers?
