Each player selects a pawn. These players will be referred to as Blue, Green, Orange, and Purple. The order in which the players will begin the game is Purple first, Blue second, Green third, and Orange fourth. Since Orange will begin the game last, he gets to select his side of the board first. He chooses the left side of the board. This puts Blue on the right side of the board. Then Green selects the top of the board, so Purple is at the bottom.

Round #1
On her first turn, Purple decides that she wants to take the path c1, c2, d2, d3. So she takes the penny on d3, and she moves the pennies from c1, c2, and d2 to d3. Then she places her pawn on d3. So, after her turn, c1, c2, and d2 are empty squares, and d3 has three pennies and Purple's pawn.
Blue goes next. She decides to take
the one-square path, h1. So she takes the quarter from h1 and places her pawn on that square.
Green wants the path h8, g8, g7, f7, f8, e8. So he gets one penny from e8. The five squares, h8, g8, g7, f7, and f8, become empty, and Green's pawn ends up on top of five pennies on e8.
Finally, Orange takes his first turn. He plots
the path a6, b6. So he gets to keep the b6 dime, then he moves the dime from a6 to b6, and finally, he moves his pawn on top of the dime on b6.
