Instructions: |
|
|
|
Place hook point in vice with the hook gap down. |
|
|
|
Tie in the bead chain eyes at the hook eye bend. |
|
|
|
Tie in Goose Biots for the tail about half way down hook gap. |
|
|
|
Secure the brass wire at the base of the goose biot tail. Then secure the end of the black embroidery floss at the same point. |
|
|
|
Wrap floss down the hook stopping approximately 3/8 " from the hook eye and tie off forming the body. Don't trim the floss yet. |
|
|
|
Wrap the brass wire down the body to form the rib and tie off at the end of the floss and trim off end. |
|
|
|
Now flip the hook over so the gap is up. |
|
|
|
Take a small clump of black deer hair and tie in by the tips at the end of the fly body on top of the hook. |
|
|
|
Wrap the remainder of the floss to build up the remaining part of the body. Tie off at the eye and trim. |
|
|
|
Pull the deer back over the body to form the wing case and tie off at the eye. Pull the hair ends down to form the legs and tie off, Trim any hairs on top, whip finish and cement head. |
