Kemal Atik

Objective

A position in the design and development process of Next Generation Switching technology based projects such as IN services, VoIP gateways, Softswitch, Mobile internet and wireless applications.

Summary of qualifications

Five years experience in the software design and development of SS7 network element (STP, SSP, SCP) modules in different projects. Ability to use C/C++ and Java languages, multi-threaded fashion, TCP/IP sockets, Purify, Gdb debuggers, Java ORB, JNI, MySQL JDBC, Apache Tomcat, Ant, Junit, Make tool and Rational ClearCase source code control tool on different platforms (Solaris ver. 8,9 and Win2K). Developed different applications that are using TCAP, MAP, INAP, CAMEL, ISUP stacks of Brooktrout MPAC1200 and SS8 Distributed7 SS7 network adapter cards. Developed signaling independent OSA/PARLAY architecture based Protocol Adaptation Layer for INAP CS1, CS1 +, Camel Ph 2.

Work experience

[Sept.2001-Present]  OKSIJEN TEKNOLOJI                                             Istanbul/TURKEY

Expert Software Engineer

n     Joined IN services development team, we focused on OSA Parlay Architecture based SCFs especially Prepaid, MobilePBX, Mobility services. Taken responsibilities of developing OSA Parlay Gateway, that currently supports Nokia INAP CS1 and MAP Phase2.

n     Developed TCAP user application that is the signaling part of Parlay Gateway, by using Brooktrout TDAPI C language APIs. Before binding to TCAP stack with GT or PC-SSN routing scheme, MTP3 configuration applied. For multiple INAP variants support, multiple TCAP binding with different GT or SSN added.

n     JAIN INAP API implemented that used by Parlay Gateway. Received TCAP ASN.1 encoded byte-stream payload decoded into JAIN INAP objects (one-to-one INAP operations and parameters mappings available) by using OSS Nokalva ASN to java compiler.

n     Joint responsibilities for the developing server/multiple-client redundant Signaling Gateway that supports ISUP, SCCP, TCAP, and BSSAP stacks of SS8 Distributed7 Network card and API on Solaris 5.9. A multi-threaded stack handler listen each stack’s queue, converts received data into internal system messages and send it to client application over TCP/IP socket. Java Native Interface used for accessing serialized system messages sent to application from the java world.

[Jan.2001-July 2001]  NORTEL NETWORKS-NITEC                                  Belfast/Northern Ireland

Contractor Software Engineer

n     Joined into Transport Node TN-16X SDH multiplexer project. STM-16 optical interface card is driven by Motorola PowerPC 6360 CPU and has a UNIX like CLUI (command-line user interface)

n     Alarm management functionality added into CLUI.

n     SDH protocol Alarm handling and maintenance requirements implemented.

n     Development performed with C under CVS environment and target platform is PowerPC

[Oct.1999-Jan 2001]  NORTEL NETWORKS-NETAS                                                Istanbul/TURKEY

Software Engineer

n     Joint responsibilities for the developing Call Control Process of Q.921 B- ISDN Mobile Tactical Area Defense System Military Switch project.

n     Implemented generic call control process parser for ISDN and B-ISDN call control management messages (Setup, Call Proceeding, Alert etc.).

n     Call Control logic of Call Waiting, Call Hold ISDN supplementary services implemented.

n     Call Control Process is running on one of the peripherals of T.A.D.S and driven by Intel486 CPU. Software Development done with ANSI C language with ClearCase source control environment under Solaris UNIX platforms. Intel-CAD-UL x86 compiler used for generating CPU instruction sets for Intel x86 CPU.

n     Integration test and development for interworking between Video Conference server and T.A.D.S. over ISDN-PRI interface.

n     Completed one year English Undergraduate Preparation class between 1994 –1995

n     Assigned to graduate project about Designing and modeling 3D objects with VRML (Virtual Reality Mark-Up Language).

Professional memberships

n     Member of Istanbul Technical University Alumni Foundation.

n     Nature volunteer of WWF (World Wildlife Foundation)

PERSONAL

Military Service Completed at Turkish Naval Force, Bafa VLF Station Base Didim
