Another Exciting Article From MY OPINION
Hello readers, this opionionated article isnt about the Mariners for once, I'm trying a change this time.  Today I am adressing the maneger issue or actually more importantly the fact that they are being fired.  Now I understand that managers make the decisions, the majior game affecting choices such as the pitchers he brings in, starting line up, starting roations etc but why is it that the manager gets blamed for the skill of those players? Over the last little while, a couple of big league managers have been fired such as Buddy Bell to name one and why is that?  Is it because Buddy was the starting pitcher that day and threw a horrible game that caused his team to lose?  Did Lou Pinella force Jeff Cirillo to make yet another error that caused a run to score?  Is it Joe Torre's fault that his team is full of ugly, fat old people?  No, that has nothing to do with the manager, sure they decided to bring in John Halama or Mike Stanton or Billy Koch from the bull pen, but how is it that the managers are getting blamed for Koch, or Stanton, or Halama or even Sasaki losing the game for their team?
Right now, Blue Jay's manager Buck Martinez is on the edge of firing, Jay's general manager was even quoted as saying "... I'm not sure if Buck will be with us at the end of the season ... "  As of late the Jay's recored has been less that up to par, their starting line up is full of rookies and younger players that dont have as much expirience as say the Carlos Delgado's of the line up and that lack of expirience and maybe there for lack of skill is leading the Jay's down a path of self destruction.  Instead though of helping Buck out and getting him some well rounded players, some more veterans if you will to add to their sub par bull pen, the Jay's GM is threatening Martinez with his job!  If you want your club to be up to the Mariners level of play, you dont freakin hang Buck's job over his head, you get him some players to work with, get him players that will listen to the base coachers to keep on running with they are waving you in, you get some players with skill so that the last place club with have a chance!
Things like that really get me choaked because I have said this many timnes to people, it isnt the manager out there on the mound, the infield, the outfiend or warming up in the bull pen,  those men out there are players that SHOULD do their job and play up to their full potential.  So in conclusion, managers shouldnt be blamed for his team's skill or lack there of, I think that the GM is partially to be blamed if not fully because it was he who decided to sign these players, pay them the big bucks to be here and it is them that is letting everyone down, not the manager who just sits in the dugout for the whole game watching his team tighten the noose around his neck!  Hello, if we blame managers for every time that his starting pitcher loses the game in the 1st inning then we should blame the estate of Henry Ford every time we get in a car accident!  Come on people!
