Upon Entrance into the Palace Courtyard, one beholds the Swayville Memorial

When
people speak of Thelbane Palace, it is a misnomer, rather than a
single building like, say, Buckingham Palace or the Winter Palace, it is
more akin to Tsarsko Selo which was a city of palaces. The centre of
Thelbane's network of Royal Palaces is just the Palace Complex or the
Centre of the City. There is the Black Tower of Thelbane, long spoken of
as simply, Thelbane. That building served as a Royal Prison as well as
strategic location. Presently none of Mandor's prisoners are being held
and the building is used as a storage location for valuable goods and
documents.

The Swayville Palace, is the main palace used for administration and
government. The massive white building with red and gold granite
speckles is usually refered to as The Palace as well. It is almost more
like the White House in its power centre. It is the centre of political
Thelbane and is Kenneth's real domain with the Chambers and Secret
Chambers that operate directly to the King and Independent of Parliament
and Cabinet.

The Royal Banquet/State Dinner and following Royal Ball was removed to
the Alberta Palace, named for the late wife of Swayville and mother of
Princess Royal Swayvanna. This gorgeous building will serve as the
centre of tonight's events, hosting Kings and Emperors, Princes and
Lords, Marshalls and Colonels.

As the pink sky began to fade into a dark midnight purplesky before
blacksky, there was a surreal view of the intricate and ornate
stonework with the fascade hinting at baroque with a touch of
neoclassical. Decadent Corinthian collums along the wall ran into the
stone roof above.

Hundreds of thousands of lights. Lights everywhere. Making Corwin's
Parys look like a city of flashlights. Each of the five hundred tall
windows facing out towards Dragon Way has its lights visible. Probably
from hundreds of chandeliers reflecting out a soft warm yet bright
light. More like concentrated silvery moonlight than artificial
sunlight. Brighter than a full moon but eerie and beautiful behind the
fine silken white draperies.

There is a large multistory arch. Much like Admiralty Arch in London but
bigger and brighter and inside the large five story cavern there is a
giant courtyard leading to the inner square of the Palace. The walls
around the inner square look like the exterior however in the centre as
coaches, flying dragons, motor cars and other conveyances of the rich
and/or well born approach they circle and footmen spring to attention
and open the doors, allowing the occupants to stride into the Entry Hall
in full glory along a path of a firey red carpet, burning inside a
magical spell causing the red and redder shades to shift and blend like
a cross section of a bleeding heart.

There are green street lamps everywhere with bright sunny lights along
the pathway set up for many to appear.
In the inner entrance area, the media were not allowed in, and anyone
who has to talk to them should speak to them outside the compound.
Above the giant entry doors is a golden dragon with red markings. The
Imperial Crest of Thelbane - the golden dragon of Swayville.

The
first thing that visitors to the glittering palace on the inside is
the Guardroom and access to the Cloakroom.
This room seems more glamourous than its mere names imply.

The guardroom seems to be an oval room bisected by the hallway of two
halves. The carpet is red as is almost every carpet in the Alberta
Palace.
There are three gilded and well padded chippendale period chairs for
those who choose to sit.

Four Guardsmen of the Imperial Demon Guard stand, seven feet tall and in
burnished breastplate with red capes, chosen for both being expert
soldiers and bodyguards as well as being comely in appearance with
golden hair and blue eyes. They are armed with pistols, but carry
cutlasses of a gold blade with a ruby pommel.
Six paintings hang on the walls in this room, One of Swayville and
another of Queen Alberta facing each other. The other four are his sons,
now deceased.

Six statues of white clean marble stand in between each painting. They
are of Swayville, Alberta, Cornelius the Younger, Rhea the Titanness,
Cornelius the Elder, Gaea.
The Entry Hall is a long quarter mile gallery of beautiful windows
looking out onto many different specially constructed ways and views.
They have curtains of fine white silk along side them. They are strong
and reinforced.
There are paintings of Lord Suhuy,

Titular King of Abyss, Lord of Thelbane, Prince of Atlantis
and his brother, the Notorious Dworkin of Amber.

There is a view of Earth from space at the same level of the space
shuttle. Another of a firey inside of a sun. There are Atlantean ruins
rotting under water with hideous mutated fish crawling around the mud.
Another view is of the ruins of Delphi Greece with a hidden cave nearby,
another of the Great Pyramid. There is a view of the palace entry way
and another of the outside of the palace.
The ceilings are usually white with much work and design around the
edges. However if one stands in one place, one can see constellations of
a night sky appear or the top of a bathyscape looking up. There are fine
carvings and engravings. The constellations resemble Earth at different
locations or Thelbane.

There are many statuarys along the walkway. They first begin with
unknown Atlantean nobility and royalty along with favoured Titans and
other relatives in Earth Prime's bygone days. They continue with Romans
and Greeks of note including Alexander the Great, Augustus, Julius
Caesar, Marcus Aurelius, Cicero. The parade of statues include many dead
nobles of Thelbane and members of the Royal Family past and present.
There is a statue of Osric favoured by Swayville with a fine wreath of
living oak leaves on the head fitted like a diadem.
There are tables and urns and vases along the way with comfortable red
and gold couches that are both padded with buttons on them. Fireplaces
unused sit however if one rubs ones hands, a cheery safe fire will
appear on its own.

Some of the most notable portraits are of the old King in various stages
of his life. The interesting fact is that Swayville while his brother
Dworkin went to gray as did Oberon, the king of Chaos stayed blond and
youthful looking with only his eyes reflecting the increasing age and
wear and tear.
Other portraits include many family shots. There are pictures of Kirk as
a young boy when he was the Archduke of Thelbane. Brand's picture when
he wed Swayvanna is on display. There is one of Brand in Thelbane in
green and on a white horse, much like his trump. The shots continue with
paintings more recent of Merlin, Mandor Blake, and Dara. King Kenneth's
picture is near the end door and opposite him is a painting of the city
of Thelbane.

Guardsmen of the same regiments stand at attention every fifteen yards
with their weapons ready.
The great doors leading to the Dining Hall are open and one can see the
massive banquet feasts ahead.

There
is a stairway going half a story down from the long hall to the
dining chamber. Off to one side there is a smoking room for the men and
a lounge for both the men and ladies. Several dozen small privies are
off of hallways for those who may need them.

Gallery
of the Void
The stair entrance has a red carpet everywhere with hints of the white
granite floor below at the edges. the bannisters are black with the
gilded edges supporting them. The stair case is in a tall room
containing it with white walls and prominent paintings of Swayville in
17th Century red and gold uniform with a cape on of solid red. He has a
marshall's baton in his hand with a dragon on top, and you see his army
storming Amber's bastions and hauling down the unicorn flag.

King
Merlin of the United States of America
Another painting is of Swayville giving his famous revision of the
Atlantean law to allow for the needs of a Family ruling Creation. A
grateful parliament of humans and demons in human form in colourful 15th
Century outfits with and without hose are receiving the king of all
Chaos. There is a small statue at the top of the stairs of Zao, who was
favoured by the old king as a possible heir. The top of the stairwell
resembles an Atlantean or Greek temple with the exception of more modern
paintings present. The skywell above is always a daylight more common
in Earth Prime.

Queen
Betty of Rolandae, Archduchess of Thelbane
The lower part of the stairway opposite the dining hall shows paintings
of Swayvanna and her husband Lord Bances Amblerash. Swayvanna looks much
as she does today but in a gown with the order of the Dragon present
with the sash around her torso. Bances is wearing the Kolvirii Crown
and holding a unicorn sceptre as King of Amblerash. He is much younger
looking in this painting in his ermine robes.
There is a statue of Brand smaller and in between them, cast in vertigris
to make it look much older than the paintings.

Laird
Carlton of Inverness, Member of the Privy Council and Cabinet of Thelbane
At the far end of the dining room behind the king's seat is a giant coat
of arms with the red and gold dragon with the crown above it. The giant
dragon has been known to smoke at times according to legend. Below it
are massive red and gold draperies under a marble alcove semi arch
carved into the massive single stone that forms this wall. The stone is
marble but more eternal and much more durable. The ceilings are 50 feet
high and hanging from them are dozens of chandeliers of silver crystal
allowing the moonlight visible from behind the draperies outside.

His
Royal Highness Prince Buckminster Flynn
There are two large doorways on each side leading to the Ballroom proper
and two servants doors discreetly hidden in the workings of the wall.
Giant gold candelabras hold red candles that burn like torches above the
heads of those dining. The table cloth is white with gold trim. There
are many pieces of cutlery on each side of the wedgewood china plate
lined with gold trim and the dragon royal arms present. There are wine
goblets of fine Austrian crystal, the linens were the finest British
made from the days when Queen Victoria reigned but each has the Initials
K.R. for Kenneth Rex instead of the old S.R. Beautiful bouquets of
roses, carnations, marygolds, daisies, and blue bells sit arrayed in an
impossible combination in the large table.

The table is shaped like a giant tuning fork with three 'prongs'
allowing two people to sit at each side of each long prong. It is a
single stone table, a piece of black granite carved by some demon king
as a gift to his overlord, King Swayville. The chairs on the other hand
are red and gold and are very comfortable and plush.
A small army of footmen in 17th C powdered wigs and surcoats stand at
attention for each guest to be seated.
There are six large paintings along the sides of the walls.

3) The Hailing of Swayville as Overlord of the Void (between Chaos and
the Abyss on the non shadow side of Thelbane) by thousands of Demon

descendants donned human forms and mostly show no sign of their demonic
home life here tonight.
4) The Treaty of Kolvir where Amber was made a kingdom, Oberon was
crowned king by Dworkin and Amber became a Chaos colony effectively. The
painting has Theobald Amblerash blessing the Unicorn Crown that Dworkin
places on his son's head. (No sign of Bances who was upset over this).
There is Maud of Kolvir present seeing her son and giving him her
father's sceptre and orb. The half built wooden walled Amber Castle
looms in the background as the coronation happened in a large pavilion
style tent.

Duke of Channicut, Duke Graeme Senior of Helgram, Lord Borel Hendrake,
much younger, a younger Mandor as well, along with many other peers of
