Keloid Treatment Links
Various products and their websites for the treatment of Keloids. There are actually quite a number of products out there on the web but I'm positive some are simply scams trying to cash in on the desperate. So beware.
Cica-Care
http://www.cicacare.com
Website for the manufacturers of Cica-Care, the Silicon gel sheet claiming to reduce dark and raised scars. This has actually over the long period of use, smoothed my chest scar but didn't do much for my arm scar. The gel sheet is expensive and although adhesive failed to adhere to my chest scar. For this I used the adhesive dressing that came with the Elastoplast scar reduction patches. Worked a treat.
Scar So Soft
http://www.naturedoc.com/products/scar_so_soft.html
Website for the manufacturers of Scar-So-Soft, a combination of natural oils claiming to work miracles. Quote 'Scars dissappear with Scar-so-soft'. The only thing to dissappear is your bank balance. Don't waste your money. I unfortunately did.
Kelo-cote
http://www.kelocote.com/
Another apparent miracle cure using a topical gel. I was going give this a try but after Scar-So-Soft I walked on by. This appears to be a gel version of a silicon gel sheet.
A K Skin Care Lotion
http://www.geocities.com/Eureka/7647/
The A K stands for Anti Keloid. Yeah right, so let me get this right. You've developed a 'Lotion' than can simply remove keloids where others have failed. Dream on.
Bio Oil
http://www.bio-oil.info
Website for the manufacturers of Bio Oil, another combination of natural oils claiming to reduce scars, blemishes, stretch marks etc. Like that of Scar-So-Soft (see above) need i say more. I did start using it to lubricate my hairclippers though.. not bad.
Private Plastic, Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgery Centre
http://www.trivia-clinic.com
Private plastic, aesthetic and reconstructive surgery center.... in Bulgaria!! I don't know why, i just thought..... never mind. The centre removes keloids (they call Cheloids) apparently. Not much info though.
Rosehip Oil
http://rosehipoil.com/
A possible treatment, but I really can't see an oil ever being that effective against a scar never mind a keloid one at that.
AvoGel
http://www.careforscars.com/index.html
Sells hydrating gel sheets called Avogel. Sound similar to those of Elastoplast so i haven't tried. Semi interesting page on the site regarding the facts about scars but by now you probably already know about scars.
Dekeloid
http://www.rccamazingtouch.com/dekeloid.html
No way!! This site took me by surprise. It's for a product called 'DEKELOID - a herbal cream preparation for the removal of keloids'. The link above takes you to a page with images showing applying the cream, removing the cream a few minutes after, the keloid scabbing over (appears to be burning the scar) over a few weeks, peeling off the scab a couple of more weeks later and hey presto!! a flat, plain scar is left behind. Check it out. Man, if it was that easy we'd never have any keloids.... but i'm curious has anyone tried it. Could you let me know? I'm smiling at the sheer audacity of the site. It's so simple and so easy.... and so i'm so sceptical. There are also products to remove moles and warts called... get this, DEMOLE and DEWART!! There are shops/clinics so it appears fairly legit so come on has anyone tried it yet.
Apothecarerx
http://www.apothecarerx.com/scars.htm
Simple site explaining Keloid scars then goes on to offer a cream to attack the hormone that causes them. What???? Get real!
The Mili ointment
http://www.thejamushop.com/
I found this as a result of a message board browse. Someone claimed that after all the usual treatments tried, this treatment finally worked. Although it wouldn't be the first time that a supplier had posted their own message to promote their product. Anyway the site explains Keloids quite well and how the ointment works. Quite interesting to read and quite convincing. I'd be curious to hear from anyone who has genuinely tried this ointment. I think i'm going to order some soon to test.
