Keloid Info and Resource Links
Piercing Studios & Gold Jewellers http://www.piercing.co.uk/keloids.htm This website provides half a page to the removal of keloids caused by rejected piercings. It's not really relevant to me but their method to simply aid the removal of keloids seemed too simplified to be of any use; but as i have no piercings (I nearly had my ear pierced at the age of 14 but luckily chickened out just outside the shop), i'm not one to judge this site. Some feedback would be useful though.
Plastic-Surg .co.uk http://www.plastic-surg.co.uk/scars%20&%20keloids.htm This website is designed to provide guidance to patients in the area's of Hand, Plastic, and Cosmetic surgery. The link above takes you directly to their Keloid and Scars page offering advice of sorts. I say of sorts but it's just that it's not that comprehensive you'll probably find better info elsewhere..
Surgical Tutor http://www.surgical-tutor.org.uk/default-home.htm?tutorials/keloid.htm~right http://www.surgical-tutor.org.uk/default-home.htm?core/preop2/scars.htm~right This website is basically a medical resource website. The links above takes you directly to their Keloid post-operative skin lesion pages. Page shows an image of a keloid post-operative.
Information and Resource pages and websites on all aspects of Keloids.
About Cancer http://www.aboutcancer.com/keloid.htm This page on a cancer website provides a small amount information regarding irradiation on keloid and hypertrophic scars. Some images available (can also be found on the gallery page of keloid-scars.com).
Mens Health http://menshealth.about.com/cs/blackhealth/a/keloid_scar.htm Good infomation about keloids. Worth a browse.
Skin Street http://www.skinstreet.net/laser.html#pulseddyel Stuff about the different types of lasers available and which lasers are used for which type of skin conditions. It's a bit technical but at least least you know. Oh and by the way i've used the Pulsed Dye laser with no success.
Wound BioTech http://www.bu.edu/woundbiotech/bioengineered/AcuteWoundsPresentation/pages/Picture%2007.htm This one just depressed me. It's a sort of paged storyboard af a 13 year old girl having a keloid excised (cut off) than a skin graft put back on. When you see it you'll know why it's a downer for any sufferer. When on the page click on the right arrow to take you to the next page. Bummer man.
Staten Island University Hospital http://www.siuh.edu/radoncology/otarticle10.html Detailed 1 pager on a study from the Duke Researches and their results. Quite interesting and only a little bit scientific. Worth a read at least once.
Family Practitioner Notebook http://www.fpnotebook.com/DER131.htm Very informative medical website with good medical info on keloids.
GP Notebook http://www.gpnotebook.co.uk/simplepage.cfm?ID=-1449525205 Another very good medical website that offers quite extensive information on keloids.... but what this about the alibert? I'll have to investigate further sometime.
