With the improvements made on the original Leo design, Executor Fraley of Moria took an interest in it and began modifying it heavily to turn it into a heavy cruiser. Approximately a year to the date of the original refits to the Leo class, the Leo 2 heavy cruiser HC118 KMS Helios was unveiled. The Leo 2 was larger, faster, more heavily armed and armored, and could stay out for longer periods of time than the originals. Along with the 341 refitted Leos, over 400 Leo 2s are now in service to the Empire.
