This class of cruiser is the typical "little duckling into a swan" story. During the reign of the Morian Republic just prior to the revolution is when these first made their appearances. For about 6 years, they fought in various skirmishes against pirate fleets but in all, due to alot of design flaws that were too expensive to correct, all the Leos were put into moth ball fleets and left to rot. When the revolution broke out, desprate for all ships possible, they were reinstated.

Ironically, yet again, once the revolution ended, they were once again put in mothballs and scheduled for demolition. The Duke having seen the designs and what it was supposed to decided they needed a second chance. Taking a portion of his own personal fortune, he had one of the vessels taken out of mothball and worked on till it worked like it was designed to, and possibly better. To this day, the Leo and its variants remain the base of the Kel-Morian crusier fleets.
