INTRODUCTION:
Welcome Scientists!  Come with us, back in time when Dinosaurs roamed the earth!  You are going to form a research group with four other scientists.  You will begin by visiting dinosaur websites and learning interesting facts about them.  You will have to explore a particular time period when the Dinosuars roamed the earth.  So, if your ready--lets get our pencils, notepads, magnifying glasses, and maps ready to discover the world of Dinosaurs!
TASK:
Students will explore selected websites to find information about Dinosaurs from the Triassic, Cretaceous, or Jurassic Periods.  Students will then list five-seven facts, based on the information found about Dinosuars from that time period.  Students must also include the names of five different dinosaurs from that selected period and include pictures of each one (Hand written or printed pictures are acceptable).
THE PROCESS:
First form your research team and decide which time period of the dinosaurs you would like to explore.  If you need help deciding, you may visit the following webpages...
    www.enchantedlearning.com

The Age of Dinosaurs
    Dino Directory

Then each student will collect information from that time period, including charactertics of things you would encounter.  Be sure to research the different dinosaurs and list facts about each one.  You will also need a picture!  You will write your information in your notebook and later we will transfer it onto oaktag.

After you complete this part of the assignment, you will meet with your group and think about ways to present your findings to the class.  Be Creative!

EVALUATION:
You will be graded and evaluated based upon your performance as a group, as well as individual effort.  This is a team project, so please make every effort to help eachother.  Everyone should have a part in the making of this project!  You will also have a brief writing assignment telling me if you liked or disliked this project.  Make sure to include specific details about what (or how) you contributed to the project.
CONCLUSION:
Congratulations Scientists!  You have completed your journey through the Age of Dinosaurs.  I hope you learned many new, interesting facts about dinosaurs and the time periods they evolved from.  Remember, The Journey Never Ends!!
